For a horse who died 12 years ago to still be producing graded winners (Monet's Garden) is pretty amazing; one of the best NH sires ever, he must be.

Apart from Monet's and The Listener, what other horses has he still got running? All of them would now have to be 11 yo+, so rising 12 minimum.

Is Wild Cane Ridge still in training, for example?

Not sure about Wild Cane Ridge.
I`d forgotten he got both Carvill`s Hill and Royal Athlete, probably because they weren`t greys.
He was consistently very successful, but I don`t think he was ever Champion sire. A little limited as his best horses were all chasers and the vast majority stayers. Like a number of the good French sires he actually ran over hurdles. Very few of the successful GB/Irish ones did. Alderbrook who is also dead and didn`t really make it big is the nearest to a modern exception I can think of.

There was a list of past champion NH sires somewhere on the 'net, but for whatever reason I can no longer find it.

Remember seeing Deep Run as a multiple champion.

Here's a link for an article written in 2000 about NH sires and includes 2 paragraphs about Roselier:

Strong Gale was the one who won it for years after Deep Run.

Thanks W-A-F. Looks like he'll still be getting some black type into next season at least. Wild Cane Ridge just ran a decent race @ Kelso.
