It's an absolute disgrace how much they charge for these bumpers. First entry stage and over 50k in the bag in entry fees for Tatts race. Next entry stage is 1 Dec, then Feb and final declaration. Will Tatts actually put any money into this race at all? If they were being sensible they would spit it and have a bumper in the spring and a novice hurdle over 2m4f the following spring, both for 50k. But the reason they won't is that they might actually have to put up the money for the novice hurdle as the entries would be lower. As you can prob guess, we bought a horse at the Derby sale and didn't bother entering him. Had three previously entered in the Land Rover over the years and only one made it and wasn't ready to do himself justice.

Agree sales races in general are a massive con. Obviously the trainers are all for them as they arent footing the bill. They are billed as an incentive at the sales where as they would be most likely compared to a lottery (with a large amount of the prize pool taken out). Would be something if they actually let you race for the prize pool. If your horse gets balloted out on declarations you get back 100eur of the 1133.5eur you have forked out.
