Just read an article about Alibhai, a son of Hyperion who became a successful sire (including of Kentucky Derby winner Determine) despite never running. Are there any current stallions who were unraced, or any rules preventing them from going to stud?

Accordion is an unraced horse who has had a successful recent NH stallion career.

So no rules, but next to no chance either in the modern game!

Alibhai had a bullet proof pedigree and was sired by a brilliant sire out of a top class racemare. He was showing tremendous ability while in training before a bad tendon injury ended his racing career. He has a similar profile to the Boardsmill Stud stallion Court Cave. He is an unraced impeccably bred son of Sadler's Wells out of  Classic winner Wemyss Bight who is a sister to the dam of Oasis Dream.

Don't know the name of the hoss but an unraced stallion was champion sire in Turkey on multiple occasions. I think he was a son of Sadler's Wells, but not entirely sure.
