Is this the worst possible outcome for Labour?

Ed wins courtesy of 60:40 from the unions, despite failing to achieve a majority with either MP's or party members.

His overall majority was a stunning 1.2%. Already some are calling the result i

Against the rules, which state there must be no candidate-supporting literature accompanying postal votes, the GMB printed a pic of Ed and a message from the union leader, Paul Kenny, to its 700,000 members:-

“I believe that Ed Miliband is the person best placed to deliver for GMB members.  That is why GMB is asking you to put him as your top preference on the enclosed ballot paper.”

Whether the David Millipede group will challenge the result is not certain.  What is near certain is that Cameron & Co will dredge this up time and time again.

Labour have had one leader who was elected unopposed which was a disaster.  They now have one who seems to have one by the slimmest of margins, and then by breaking the rules.
