I would like views on the chances of Saamidd lasting out the 1.5 mile of the Derby please.

Anyone giving you a categorical on that one essexguy is a little foolhardy I think.

His breeding is so ambiguous, with perhaps 10f being it's optimum, it is probably best to believe what the racecourse test tells you (as so often).

On today's efforts I would think he needs be a very good horse indeed to carry that sort of Zip over a mile and a half. Is he?

To my eye, I think this fellow is a mile / mile 2 furlong horse at best. I see he is quoted at 12-1 by some firms for the derby. I just wanted other views.

See the dams side does have stamina close up but further back has Brocade in the pedigree an influence for speed, also in Setas pedigee and although Setas dam is by Generous she only stays 1 mile, Saamidd looks to have plenty of speed , i would not back him for the Derby. You will find Brocade in the pedigree of quite a few fast horses even though they were sired by Sadlers Wells.

This colt will hold lots of apppeal if he goes on,being a son of Street Cry I reckon Darley will try to make him into a stallion prospect for over here.
