Injury ends racing career of Group 1 winner Ask

ASK has been retired after sustaining an injury and will recuperate at Elms Stud in Northamptonshire while connections decide where he will stand as a stallion.
The Sir Michael Stoute-trained seven-year-old, who won two Group 1 races during his career, was being prepared for a possible tilt at the Irish Field St Leger at the Curragh next Saturday when he pulled up during the course of a gallop on Racecourse Side in Newmarket on Wednesday morning.
The injury was not life-threatening but the son of Sadler'sWells has ended his days on the racecourse.
Ask's owner Patrick Fahey said: "He had small damage on a tendon - it was nothing too serious but this is the second time it has happened in recent times and we decided against taking any more risks with him.
"On Monday he goes to Elms Stud to recover and where he goes to stand has yet to be decided."
What do I always say about Rainbow Quest as a source of fragility.Mind you sure to be popular for a jumps sire being by Sadlers Wells.

He ran 19 times and is still going at 7 (just) so I suppose he's sounder than many.

He could easily breed horses that are fragile. I take it he's on your list PD
 . He is another one of the national hunt stallions with there name on the wall in Coolmore of all the group 1 winners sired by of Sadlers Wells. Its something i always love to see when at Coolmore a new one added every time you go |
