lets hope so,as so far they look an ordinary bunch,apart from one or two,namely together and i really liked the look of enchanted forest who was 2nd behind brittany recently,looks an exciting prospect

We are probably yet to see any of the first three in any of next years classics apart perhaps from Memory. Stoute, Cecil, A Balding, J Dunlop etc. have run very few yet.

I think the "quality" two year olds will be out later than usual this year.
The winter this year was much harder, and longer lasting, than for several years. To my mind this has undoubtedly put all two year olds behind in comparison to the previous decade. Whilst the lesser lights, in general, have probably seen the track as usual, the better horses are being given the required extra time. |

I have a filly with a small (but ofcourse brilliant!) trainer, and whilst he would be knownas a patient trainer so bear that in mind, he hasn't entered a single 2yo yet purely because of the ground. His opinion being that if you don't actually crock them you will still be unwise to try again so denying them any sort of educational sequence.
Presumably he's not the only one. |

A patient trainer does not help a mares page IMO. Need to get them out and running if you are going to the trouble of training fees etc. Richard Hannon has such an edge with 2yos and he has been running plenty(and winning!)

I agree that an early runner can help put some flesh on a page PD.
However to get the maximum for the page you need the maximum from the horse, and that needs to be where and when the horse dictates. I'm an admirer of Hannon too, who wouldn't be, but his academy works best with what he chooses presumably. It may not suit everything, but if he does get results with everything then you can bet your bottom dollar he knows how to be patient too. |

My god you would like to think so but we can only go on what we have seen so far and they look quite poor.
Together looks a Classic Horse Zoffany doesn't appeal to me as a Classic Horse but is the best of the Colts. The Tyros stakes they only have Zoffany entered(realistically) and they usually have a good un for that. I am sure that big talking Horse Why will be someway decent mind you |

Zoffany is a class act, ignore his Coventry run got completely left for dead when things got serious then kept on in taking style when the leaders had gone.
Inca Princess has a lot of ability from what I've seen but doesn't really put it all in at the finish, if the penny drops she can be quite good imo. |

Maybe having to many good two year olds who arent developing into 3 year olds is killing Ballydoyle. Alot was said that Wachman was getting the earlier types but only Meow has shown anything. Maybe not getting top two year olds might help Ballydoyle as they could turn out to be very good at 3.

Their best ever 3yr old Galileo only ever ran once at 2. I personally think running Horse's in those Late Season French Group 1's are more for the benefit of future stud career than the horse actual 3yr old career. They are stupid races |

Agree not a fan of those 2 year old French races either, guess they're trying to satisfy trends. Think they're also dying for a New Approach type horse.

They should run horses at two who are capable of it but theres no point throwing them in at the deep end. The horse i was most looking forward to this year was Flying Cross(notice hes mentioned on another thread aswell) and he hasn't reappeared. Lightly raced at two i thought he would come on alot and be a top 3 year old then they never race him hard to make anything of there operation sometimes.
