Polmar and Findlay horses head DBS August
By Bloodstock World Staff 4:35PM 15 JUL 2010 THIS year's Irish Daily Mirror Handicap Chase winner Polmar heads a catalogue of 555 horses for the DBSAugust Sale on August 3-4.

Also guaranteed to spark interest are seven horses belonging to Paul Barber and Margaret Findlay from Manor House Stables, including the classy hurdlers Aiteenthirtythree and Alfie Sherrin.

Other standouts in the mixed sale include Bubbly Bruce, who ran fifth in the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham, Listed-winning hurdler Oligarch Society - catalogued in foal to Presenting - and Salinova, the dam of Challow Hurdle winner Souffleur and in foal to King's Theatre.

Harry Findlay: his mother, Margaret, will sell seven horses

A yearling Flemensfirth filly out of Cleeve Hurdle heroine Mistinguett has also been catalogued as has point-to-point winner Blarney Highwayman, who is at the centre of a legal dispute between agent Hugo Merry and Charles Colthurst and Caroline Myers.

As usual, there are also sizeable drafts from Gigginstown House Stud and Darley to entice buyers.

Last year's renewal saw the average rise three per cent to £7,742 and the median rise five per cent to £4,000 for 282 horses sold. The aggregate dropped seven per cent to £2,1,83,000.

I was just thinking that one of them might be a bit of value now given the previous hype about them, Bothe of them bred to be chasers so maybe their best days might be still to come. Suppose I should have elaborated a bit more.
