Son of stamina laden Hernando, won tatts Gold cup last year, more of a stayer though. Was in training as a 4yo, Ir emember Weld saying something like there wasn't huge demand for sons of Hernando at Stud.

Last I heard Melbourne Cup was a possibility, would be worried about him in that with his ridiculously round action. Has been gelded so don't expect him to be at stud.

I'd heard himn mentioned as a potentiAL Arc horse, must not be as good as they hoped

No doesn't look like, geldings can't run in the Arc so they've got rid of that option.

Heard he suffered a career threatening injury after which he was gelded which was a bit of a shock for a Group 1 winner so presumably he will be given time to recover and may turn up at ..... Cheltenham 2011 ? ( He is not entered in the Irish Champion so I dont think we will see him on the flat this year )

I must admit to not having much interest in this one. Hernando has a loyal jumps following though doesn't he, so I think I'd have explored a jumping stallion home for him. Maybe they did. . ?

I think they've maybe missed a trick gelding him guys, It'd be a shame if he ended up hurdling.

He won a weak renewal of a tattersalls gold cup it shouldn't even be a group 1

It was Lush Lashes first run of the season and her second against colts her first she finished tailed off behind Eagle Mountain after a very long 3 year old campaign. When Famous Name finished second all he had won before was one of the weakest Group 3's of the year and he had also won a listed race, ok he had been placed in very good races but Casual Conquest bet nothing that day. Thewayouare disappointed so much that day, i was at the races that day just to see him i thought he could win a weak group 1 but he just never trained on

Thewayyouare was massively overated, won an awful Group 1 at 2, can't believe he commands 10000 dollars tbh.

ben10 how is Thewayyouare overated he is a group 1 winning two year old by Kingmambo out of a Sadlers Wells mare and he's a half sister to Peeping Fawn who won 4 consecutive group 1 races and from the family of Rags To Riches, Jazil and Man Of Iron. Rags To Riches is one of the best filles of the bast 10-20 years she 4 group 1s in a row and ended it by beating Curlin
To be honest it's he's probably the best bred horse at stud and if he were at stud in Ireland i would be one of the first to send a mare to him.

What on Earth does having a good pedigree have to do with his performances on the racecourse. Look at the races and the prices he was sent off despite having no proper top class form to speak. First Group race he beat Centennial, lol. Next race he managed a hard thought victory over Hello Morning who I don't think won a race again. He was then soundly beat in the French Guineas and soundly beat in the French Derby. He then had the Ganay set up for him on a plate (watch the race) and was again beaten. He then bombed and was swiftly packed off to stud before breeders cottoned on, he's in America because they won't look at his form like that.
Don't see the relevance in telling me how good Rags To Riches was and Peeping Fawn is one of my favourite fillies ever.

. He was then soundly beat in the St.James Palace stakes.
(watch the race)

I know this is not what you are talking about and I'm only having a laughLaughbut do you see the similarities? Oh and you do know who I'm on about!Grin

Touché Devil

Meld Stakes entry interesting but will probably be too short for a bet tbh, have probably cut my losses on him now. Would be happy to get a win for pride!

ben10 You said you didn't know how he commanded $10000 and i gave you the answer. How do you not see why i was talking about Rags To Riches do you not understand pedigrees

ben10: he's in America because they won't look at his form like that.

He's in america because he's a group 1 winning 2 year old by Kingmambo from one of the leading families in america. I think you should be on the horse racing forum ben10.

I possibly miswrote what I was saying in the morning, I meant I don't need condescending pointing out of obvious parts of the pedigree and my point was that his form is not as good as most Group 1 winners, in fact quite a bit below, even though they happily trumpet it, maybe he'll catch on with nice lines but there's also a chance he'll pass on his own class and ability, best of luck if you get to use him. You decided to latch onto the wrong part of my post, missing what I was trying to say, as so many on here do; in fact I'd suggest from your pathetic response, you'd fit in better on the horse racing forum tbh. I'm not going to begin to try and explain why I look in on this forum because it would go above your head.

Prima, I'll stil be cheering him on but don't think he'll provide a betting angle and as I said on another thread he's clearly not up to Canford's sheer class.

ben10 the reason i like this horse is because of his wonderful breeding as a breeder myself i look past some racecourse form and look into his pedigree. Yes maybe his group 1 win was weak but he won that race, it is not a race that will catch commercial breeders eye but the horse in question can catch a commercial breeders eye. Maybe you dont agree because of his racecourse achievements but if your judging him solely on that then i think this might be the wrong forum.

ben10 do you breed horses yourself?

Lol, I think I've had too many or maybe just don't proof read my posts, meant to change that bit in the middle of the seethfest but forgot, there was worse than that! I meant that it wasn't worth bothering with because you clearly have no time for me.
Ultimately all I did was try and point out that his achievements aren't what they seemed, which was pertinent to a point in discussing the quality Casual Conquest's Group 1. The stud fee was a bit of a flipant remark but more an aside comemnt; maybe $10000 is worth a punt on the pedigree alone but that wasn't the point I was trying to make.

JV, if you met me or had been on the forum longer (sorry if you've changed your name) you'd know I'm not arrogant.
