Black-type double for Westerner
(17th May 2010)

Just 48 hours after his first jumps runner enjoyed a Listed success, Westerner had another black-type scorer on the flat at Longchamp on Sunday when Never Forget (3f Westerner-Topira, by Pistolet Bleu) took the Listed Prix de la Seine.

The lightly-raced filly ran out to a cosy length success and looks set to make her mark in better company through the summer.

Never Forget was jointly bred by her trainer Elie Lellouche and owner Claude Cohen. Her success comes hot on the heels of a victory for Katkovana (3f Westerner-Kakira, by Cadoudal), on her debut in the Listed Prix Wild Monarch over hurdles at Auteuil on Friday.

Delighted to see him get his first N.H winner so early as my filly just gave foal to a cracking Westerner colt 2 weeks ago.Really think Westerner is going to be an excellent N.H sire.

Good. He was a smashin', versatile hoss. Do you get a free packet of cotton wool when you buy his progeny?

I'm not sure about the cotton wool, but make sure you are a stroppy artistic type before you bid!
