You couldn't get a proper answer to that question without having every single female HM ever in the house and letting us positive vote eh?
Report armagnac September 9, 2010 4:02 PM BST
agree, it should be nikki imo... but the preston situation has probably won over the stupid middle aged tubby women that watch this drival and compare it, to there own sad exsistance.
chantelle gets a good edt again tonite, a couple of heart to hearts with no tears will go down well to the core viewers.

The viewers don't think this is really an "ultimate" show so why should we concern ourselves?
Report leveller September 9, 2010 6:06 PM BST
you are right charlie, and I dont think very many people still care.  Most viewers are just sticking it out till the bitter end I feel Plain

indeed. And as far as the viewers know, Channel 5 is about to announce officially it is taking over while C4? (or the producers anticipating leaving) create a "funeral" for the end of the show - very odd.

There has been no great female housemates. All the real characters and entertainers are male.

"There has been no great female housemates. All the real characters and entertainers are male".

The only housemate who is universally recognized outside of the environs of Big Brother itself and its fanbase is a woman - Jade.

I am astonished that there has been no mention of Jade in UBB. I hope they put it right tomorrow evening. If the winner is shrewd enough he/she will dedicate their 'title' to Jade.

If Jade is anywhere, I hope she is in perfect peace.

Totally agree LG

Just watched her eviction interview again

Really amazingly funny when you compare her to some of the dross that weve been served up in the last few series.

If they make no mention of her tomorrow i will be sorely disappointed

I've got to be the fly in the ointment here, but I really disliked Jade - from watching the LF on BB3.

The much abused word bully is actually relevant here. She bullied Kate relentlessly, Kate handled it well, it rarely made the HL's, but at an interview afterwards Kate said that she had suffered.

Then a former school colleague said the same thing, then Shilpa.

A thoroughly bad egg.

Henry's right. She was a koont

I think it was tragic that she became ill and died so young, as it is for many many people who suffer the same fate.  However, I never found her likeable and didn't suddenly start liking her when she became ill.

She might have been well known away from BB, but not for good reasons.

However, she was a product of a tragic background and shocking parenting although so are many other people who rise above it.

The press gave her one hell of a hard time during BB3 basically for being overweight, unattractive, poorly educated, chavvy.  We now have the Kyle generation where our papers and TV screens are full of similar people desperate for their fifteen minutes, more if they are lucky.

Regards female "characters" (and it probably applies to a lot of the males too).

I think they've just about got away with UBB but realistically it was always going to be a bit of a damp squib because you can't "go back", and people who behaved in a certain way in their teens/20s can be very different ten years down the line.

Most of the female "villains", such as Grace, were pretty lightweight really and have since moved on, settled down, grown up, etc.

Likewise "Nasty" Nick.  He wasn't much of a villain after all, more a bit of a bumbling, self conscious Martin Clunes-type character.  Nick and Vic = Men Behaving Badly 10+ years down the line.

Similarly those loud attention-seeking "look-at-me" types getting their boobs out at the drop of a hat will also have grown up, a bit like Michelle has said and proved.

Others became the "characters" they were because of house dynamics, relationships and the "story lines" that evolved - Helen, Michelle again, etc.

The past few weeks have shown that nice-but-dim types like Samanda and Sophie would be out of their depth and boring in UBB.  Chantelle too, but for the Preston storyline.

I think the only "female characters" who have pretty much stayed in character are Makosi (a little bit), and then Nadia (and look what happened to them) and Nikki. (And Kat, no doubt, but I'd rather not think about her.)

Nadia was a bit of a novelty back then and could get away with it - not now.

Nikki still can, but she is looking a bit of a tragic figure unable to grow up and away from the BB bubble.

It is clear to see how much motormouth types who start conversations and almost give a running commentary, like Brian, Ulrika and even Vanessa, were needed.

Not many HMs have the intelligence or confidence to do this - maybe Derek Laud, Ben Duncan to name a few.  Luke probably thinks he does.

Former Big Brother contestant Nadia Almada has reportedly been rushed to hospital after attempting to end her own life.

The BB5 winner was found slumped in her bathroom on Wednesday following an overdose of prescription drugs and painkillers, reports The Sun.

The 33-year-old - who admitted that she was feeling suicidal after her eviction from the Ultimate Big Brother house last week - apparently told friends: "I want to end it all."

A friend staying at Nadia's council flat is said to have discovered her body and called for an ambulance. She was reportedly kept under medical observation on Wednesday night, after which she was declared fit enough to return home.

A source said: "This is a cry for help. She is very unhappy."

Earlier this week, fellow BB5 contestant Marco Sabba spoke out on the Digital Spy forums to announce that Nadia was "devastated" by the hostile public reaction following her eviction.

Nadia recently attacked Channel 4 for the way in which she was presented during her UBB confrontations with Coolio, accusing the broadcaster of misleading the viewers.

Last night, a Big Brother spokesperson said: "We have been in constant touch with Nadia and, like all housemates, she has access to all of our aftercare facilities."

Mental fvckups like her used to be ignored - fair enough, and sometimes vilified by society - not really fair.

Then they were tolerated - better.

Now they're worshiped - bad.

Personally though I hope she pulls through, if she does she's bound to get over it, she should realise by now that it's all pantomime.

I thought Nadia would do well but she went from pigeon to statue in less than 2 weeks
