Interesting thing to consider, and the reason I've now finally gone 'all-in' so to speak on Josie - when JJ1 departs the house on Friday then her run to the final will be without the dark cloud of skippy dragging her down.

With him still in the house I'd make her a 1.8 shot, with him gone she should be more like 1.2 IMO from here on in.

Any views? Just that a lot of comments on here recently suggesting he's making it harder for her to win?
Report Goldie08 August 17, 2010 11:49 AM BST
agree with everything you said.

Basically humor and entertainment win these shows. Hopefully josie will become more humerous once he goes.

Could also add we're likely to see a bit of emotional connection for the viewers when she worries whether he will really want her once this is over....almost a Nadiaesque setup for the final few days.
Report letsalldance August 17, 2010 12:18 PM BST
She could very easily turn into one big miserable mare once John James leaves.

Bit like Nadia did for the last month?

I doubt she will anyway, but a bit of dark and light will just add to her final vote for certain. Viewers so love a journey.

The majority - say 60% - of John James fans rate Josie as their second favourite HM.

John James has an 83% chance of being evicted according to betfair

Depending on where you look, John James has 14-20% type popular support.

So, after friday. Josie could expect a boost of 8.4-12% to her current score as those John James fans switch to her.

So if that's all true does that mean there's an 83% chance of Josie being unstoppable?

Further...

About 25% of the public want John James out next. They hate him. Is Josie's popularity therefore dragged down by her association with John James? Could there be a further boost to her core support if JoJa leaves on Friday?
Report Dylan1975 August 17, 2010 1:11 PM BST
Agree her price should be shorter, JJ1 is almost definitely gone this week giving Josie just a few days on her own, not long enough for her to miss him so much that she'll walk, but long enough to see a few tears and see Josie on her own without JJ1.

People are saying she might suffer from being guilty by association with how JJ1 has behaved towards Corin recently, but even during this time Josie has stood up for Corin and hasn't simply gone along with JJ1.

The other factor as expressed in this thread is she's likely to get the majority of JJ1's votes once hes gone which just boosts her further. Think she'll be close to 1.5 on Friday once JJ goes and assuming she doesn't walk out with him.

You know I've loved Josie from the start shrewd, and i'm currently finished with the outright market as she has given me an all green screen, but I still have one very small niggling doubt in my mind.
If they continue to portray Corin as being a victim, it could no only help stop her bing evicted on Friday, but could give her a whole new core vote if she reacts in a decent manner to the bullying.
When Corin was the big favourite and Josie the outsider, I welcomed a head to head final as I thought josie the normal, underdog would win easily. The scenarios is now playing out differently, with Corin being the massive underdog, and the one with a massive mountain to climb. She could come out of this bullying situation as some sort of role model, and make for a very exciting finish.

As we know from playing this game for so long, the edit will decide.

Anthony against the nerd was fantastic as a head to head comparison, as we could just lay the one that went odds on, in the knowledge that the other would be odds on within a short space of time.
Report Dylan1975 August 17, 2010 1:26 PM BST
If Josie hadn't been so sympathetic towards Corin over the last few days id agree Pakey, but shes been the only person to really stand up for her and have a got at JJ1, so any sympathy she's likely to get isn't really going to get voters from Josie because Josie has acted really nicely throughout the whole episode.
Report PAKEY August 17, 2010 1:29 PM BST
I don't disagree Dylan, but it will all hinge on how the edit team decide to portray the situation.
They could always "forget" to include Josie being sympathetic due to time constraints.

Still waiting for this fantastic revelation btw Charlie [;)]

Is Vinnie going to win the allstars?

its on the C4 website Pakey which is usually a good sign it'll be shown on the highlights.

I'm not much of a fan of odds on shots, especially when it comes to Big Brother.

The fact she is so widely expected to win rings huge warning bells in my mind. Think twins vs Brian?

Wouldn't make her any shorter than this personally.... at the end of the day it's not about poll percentages, it's how many of those people vote and (crucially) how many times... which is much more unpredictable.

All in on this is just too risky imo. But good luck Happy
Report PAKEY August 17, 2010 1:44 PM BST
No worries Dylan.
Also as a Josie backer, I wan;t too happy about the pass to the final, as I felt whoever got it would find it was a poisoned chalice. I think Josie is the only one who could minimise that though.

I'm v happy as things stand, as it would give my my Josie outright.

George I was stroking my beard that Pepper might escape eviction but given his impish omnipresence in the HLs it seems like a junkable theory.

Some good posts on this thread.
If John James(and Sam)go on Friday the only story left in town will be Josie's reaction. Over the past three weeks she has played a near perfect hand and it is says something about her that her own popularity has risen while the popularity of her paramour has fallen. She has trodden this fine line incredibly well and I believe she is worth backing at 1.8 on the assumption that her 'natural instinct' will see her through to next Tuesday.
As a Josie backer I could have done with the 'picking on Corin' story. Corin had little or nothing left in the locker when the idiots decided to start pinching her things and calling her fake. I think she was in danger of being shown the door on Friday without this storyline but now we must assume that she is safe. The fact that Josie has stuck up for her is not only good for Josie, but reflects well on Josie.
If she wins I think Josie will be a very deserving winner (and I still believe she will win comfortably).

Regards to All.

On BB Online, she picks the majority of John James's support. So that's worth an extra 10 - 15% in the overall polls. And she actually picks up more of Sam's support if he goes than Corin according to the other poll. Furthermore, low pecentages though they may be, she also picks up Dave's support, JJ's support and Andrew's.

That's why in the Survation poll between Corin, Sam and Josie, Josie had 57% of the vote. More than the other two combined.
Report Topper Robson August 17, 2010 7:49 PM BST
The polls change daily many have not yet made up their minds. Its almost unthinkable that Corin will not get an uplift in her support from the last 48 hours. That said Josie has played it very well they are between them the two nicest most genuine in there the problem for Josie is the other H.M.s under duress in some cases have given her almost God like status which give Corin the advantage of being the underdog. They are both worthy winners and personally Im glad as a viewer they most likely will be the final two.
As for the prices the market implies between them they have an 83% chance of winning I would put it slightly higher personally but cant be certain where the value lies.

well i thought josie was going to run away with it but jj has just opened the door wide open for corin, we have a shootout gentlemen !!
Report Helmuthian Folds August 17, 2010 8:01 PM BST
I don't see what has been happening to Corin as bullying myself as Sam winds up everyone and has been far nastier to Josie than he has ever been to Corin.

I used to really like Corin but have grown to really dislike her over the last 10 days, she is happy and chirpy in a way I now believe to be very false, you see the real Corin when she is angry IMHO and she seems to be a nasty and forceful piece of work.  You only need to see how she has treated her long term girlfriend with such casual disdain to realise this.

Also I disagree that this will help her survive I think it will be the opposite, this is a negative vote so all the Sam and JJ1 fans will be even more determined to vote her out.  If this had been a positive vote then the 'bullying' would have swelled her support but in this vote to evict scenario I think it seals her fate.
Report johnnyrant August 17, 2010 8:34 PM BST
Can't agree with that at all HF. It is absolutely her nature to be chipper, upbeat, positive... but she has been persecuted over the last 2 days. Under that sort of duress, anyone would get angry or break down in tears. There is nothing false about her personality. She may not have great general knowledge, she may have what many perceive as annoying catchphrases n annoying Manc accent, a limited vocab, a fake chest, and a fake tan, but I would suggest it is all these exterior factors that have generated a certain degree of hate towards her but have zero relevance to her character which is essentially warm, kind, sociable, amiable...
She may still go on Friday but I would expect the storyline to be her survival over the bullies, and if she does survive she can still mount a winning challenge.
Report armagnac August 17, 2010 8:38 PM BST
she aint going nowhere the insiders would be pushing her price up if the votes was close, she's nowhere near being evicted right now
