Interesting post from another thread...

John James, Sam, Dave and Steve looks nailed on to me, there's really not much the fanbases can do.

On the face of it, it's a bizarre decision to get rid of 4 on a negative vote and potentially leave a final of Josie + (probably) Corin + (probably) 3 other minor characters.

The option was there to do the vote to save and leave all the big players in the final. Why would the prods scupper this just days before?

imo, they know how hardcore the fanbases of Sam and (to a lesser extent now) JJ1 are, and there IS something these fanbases can do: vote lots and lots of times to evict the rest. No doubt there'll be a load of internet campaigns too.

It would seem impossible for someone with such a high negative rating as Sam to avoid being one of the 4. Yet his price seems to have steadied around 8.6.

Can Sam's fans save him? And, more importantly, have TPTB got a fair idea his fans could pull this off and are sitting back looking forward to both a sh1tload more voting revenue, and an exciting final?

especially after tonite when sam has another good show, his fans will go into overdrive...and if they carry on showing sam in a positive light it can be done

He can't be saved. He almost certainly got over 30% on friday.

More than enough for him to go either 1st or 2nd on friday.

it's not really a conspiracy tho army - hardcore Sam fans will now vote for numerous HMs (to evict) rather than just one HM (Sam, to save) = more voting £££. Question is whether they can vote enough. Interesting that his price hasn't massively nosedived. He's being backed again now.

fll - why, iyo, would TPTB wreck the final when there was the perfect opportunity to cull the dull? Voting revenue? To allow the All-Stars launch centre-stage? Utter stupidity?

It's gonna be great evictions deejay, people who viewers actually want to hear being evicted - why not?
By:

When: 14 Aug 10 20:35
it can be done and will be tried as long as sam continues to get good edits

4 big-name evictions in a 50 minute show on Friday shrewd? When the biggest audience will be tuning in on finals night? Makes no sense for the good of the show.

I've given my view in the other thread.

They want a big eviction show on friday ahead of the final and the allstars.
John James and Sam coming out will be great TV,

Andrew and JJ2 wouldn't be.

They'll still have a competitve final if Corin stays and then they'll launch the allstars.

From a Tv POV it makes perfect sense,

There'll only be 2 big name evictions deejay - well one and a half really.
By:

When: 14 Aug 10 20:40
lol shrewd, maybe. but they'll all be bigger names than 5th 4th and 3rd on finals night, just by the nature of the vote

wot shrewd says.

2 big name evictions, not 4

Often been the way if you think about it in these series - bigger names like Freddie, Marcus etc going out before the bores and vaguely disliked creep out in 5th and 4th etc...

This is the final submission for Channel 4

They will be seeking to make as much cash as they can

How much extra do you think they would bank by holding a quadruple eviction?
By:
armagnac

fll

if sam gets good edits for the next 6 days then it is crystal clear that channal 4 have tried to market as much cash as possible and DJ is right.

1 bad edit for sam and its poppy ****, but i would'nt dismiss it until the edits are shown if i was you

For every 1 vote that's sent to Sam, Sam supporters need to get 3/4 strategically placed votes. Not only do they need to get one of the deadwood up to eviction levels, they also need to ensure that JJ1, Dave and Steve all get more than him.

All meanwhile the Sam haters happily redial on him to get him out.

Just can't see him staying.

ffs morons

your missing the point, channal 4 are looking to make as much money as possible..all they have to do is make sam into a british icon over the next week and they will make so much money they could'nt care less what happens.

i agree with you it would take a miracle for sam to be saved, but this is what channal 4 are hoping for.

ffs its not rocket science

Channel 4 are a disgrace. They've been a disgrace the entire 11 seasons with the negative vote which should have been positive vote (losing great characters the whole time) and now they've gone the whole hog and done a disgusting vote to evict on all the housemates.

Completely ruined what's been a pathetic season anyway and will definitely now have the worst finale.

I reckon they would get a lot more votes if this was a +ve vote.
Voter apathy may kick in this week.

The info is still sinking in dj.

It always takes awhile.
I remember it took an age for the market to realise that Nikki was a cert to go when they put the whole house bar Jayne.

Channel 4 will get their biggest audience of the year on friday

Its a tv entertainment show ffs

Its not the grand national...
By:
Charles1980
When: 14 Aug 10 21:16
what's your point?

What's the grand national got to do with anything? We know it's a tv show. But it's a tv show that they organise without the VIEWERS in mind. The viewers who watch and mind about the outcome, are being cheated out of having the people they like do well.

If you want to compare with the grand national (god knows why you would), it would be like the organisers deciding the first 3 horses have to run around again, but only telling the viewers at the last furlong. "Oh well, it's only a race"

It's reality TV ffs. The rules are there are no rules.

And some of you seemingly greatly over-estimate how much money is banked via phone voting on the big brother series.

It's a virtual mathematical impossibility.

All these assumptions are based on his negative support as it is now. But I've been following it on a daily basis and it is decreasing faster than I've ever known.

His positive support is also increasing rapidly.

We still have a week to go.

Positive vote doesn't matter a jot in a 4 way negative vote.

Well it's worth something, more if targeted. JJ1's positive support has caused havoc with evictions, and Sam has more positive support than JJ1 ever had.

I'm not writing Sam off.
