Andrew has been upstaged by the Pepper. Loving Dave's antics though, just ant to cuddle him and share the 'glory'

He was a koont too

seriously its the nuts mate for women, best place on whole fo the south coast imo..and ive done every town
Report huskydog August 13, 2010 11:45 PM BST
Not been in there for a while, that's a real shame if they've gutted the place and refurbed it. I live in Westbourne, tend to avoid the places here, too many drunken incidents!
Report armagnac August 13, 2010 11:48 PM BST
westbourne, you only live half a mile away then from it Laugh yeah branksome not that nice right next to parkstone innit.
Report GeorgeBrush August 13, 2010 11:49 PM BST
I'm more of a Brighton man myself obviously. Me and fig striding out arm in arm. Seems to go down well there
Report huskydog August 13, 2010 11:50 PM BST
Love it here, only been here for 3 years. Went to the beach at 2am last night to watch the meteor shower, but they didn't show up. Nethetheless, great to be at the shore at that time knowing you've got the place all to yourself. Very peaceful hearing those waves crashing in.
Report armagnac August 13, 2010 11:52 PM BST
Laugh scary that brighton...some trucker chatted up my mate in a pub...my mate walked out the pub sharpish i fell out the door p!ssing myself seconds later..wound him up the rest of the day. quality that was
Report armagnac August 13, 2010 11:53 PM BST
yep, husky..you wont get many better places in the uk mate..the views are great [;)]
Report huskydog August 13, 2010 11:55 PM BST
We got The Hogshead, The Westbourne, The Porterhouse (run by Ringwood breweries), Soho Bar and other retauraunt types serving booze. I'm only 10 mins walk from Bournemout town centre though, so i'd rather head that way. Parkstone (Lower, not Upper) is very posh and stings on the pocket for beers.
Report GeorgeBrush August 13, 2010 11:56 PM BST
Durdle door, Stair Hole, quality Dorsetry

(they are coastal features, not homoerotic references btw)
Report huskydog August 13, 2010 11:58 PM BST
If you're ever in Parkstone, try The Bermuda Triangle, really odd place, serving 4 different German ales, very odd but likeable, shy moustache guy behind the bar. Believe it has won a lot of awards.

Did a 3 hr sea cruise from poole Quay around the Jurrassic Coast, only 11 quid, and smuggled loads of booze on board, well worth it if anyones down here over summer.

Two Corals on Ashley Road, Upper Parkstone, but I think I know the one you mean, near the Conservative Club. Do my shopping at Waitrose just along from there. Rough element in Upper Parkstone, but starkly different from the snobbish, sophisticated Lower Parkstone. But I guess it's like that in lots of areas. Asbo kids living next to seriously wealthy people.
Report huskydog August 14, 2010 12:14 AM BST
Me, you and George should have a day out here, bring your sleeping bags (i've only got a studio flat) and we'll take a late night stroll on the beach, with some lagers. Believe me, it's heavenly, might well do it shortly. Are you in Dorset or Hants? If I don't reply it's because i'm heading for the shore.
Report armagnac August 14, 2010 12:16 AM BST
yep thats it..bad area that, hoggs head at the other end of the c0ral block..nasty pubs the further you go, especially the one right at the end of the road on the mini roundabout...cant think what its called now.
Report bunnyman August 14, 2010 12:18 AM BST
I spent 4 years in Bournemouth, was at college at the Dorset Institute of Higher Education in Wallisdown 1983 - 1987.  Love the place, we were down there a couple of weeks ago for Camp Bestival at Lulworth.
Report armagnac August 14, 2010 12:18 AM BST
hahaha nutter, im in weymouth mate..and dont do floors, i usually stay at the hotel on the big roundabout opposite KFC and o'neils..prime location to go out and get smashed as perv..fu ckin love it
Report huskydog August 14, 2010 12:24 AM BST
That's most likely The RoundHouse Hotel, which at this time of year is rammed with stag and hen parties. Like going to the bar there on Friday afternoons and watching the drunken fun begin. I should be out now and taking in the atmosphere. 4 strip clubs here, Wiggle, Spearmint Rhino, For Your Eyes Only and Peaches. I like Weymouth, the quay is superb, traditional pubs. Not many places can boast that many pubs per square miles as Weymouth. Been pissed in that Wetherspoons on the High Street many times.
Report huskydog August 14, 2010 12:25 AM BST
Nice one Bunnyman, was that Camp Bestival not geared towards the kiddies though?
Report GeorgeBrush August 14, 2010 12:26 AM BST

My kids are younger than army's and don't use as much smack yet
Report armagnac August 14, 2010 12:29 AM BST
aye thats it roundhouse, like going to the gala and playing live poker...not been for a while though. weymuff got two spoons now..one by the kings statue now as well..both always packed. we've had a fair few pubs shutdown in recnet times but there is still a good 80 odd i reckon...used to have over 100 and have the most pubs per square something. very easy to get mangled here
Report armagnac August 14, 2010 12:32 AM BST
hey GB next time you come down for holiday..check out Rockley Park mate...quality site ive stayed there a few times and its only 25 miles from my house...its the thought that counts though innit.
Report huskydog August 14, 2010 12:46 AM BST
Yep, quite staggered by the amount of pubs down Weymouth. Think the Wetherspoons down by the King's Statue used to be another pub (Yates', I believe?). Near that really good sit-in chippie. Also like that large Kiwi/South African(?) bar, again on the High Street. I'll be down there again within a few weeks, great place, if a little on the grubby side in parts. Read an article the other day about a girl who chucked herself off a multi-story, and the judge in the case was very scathing about certain people taking mobile phone pictures as ahe lay dying.
Report armagnac August 14, 2010 12:59 AM BST
nah, yates is dead opposite the spoons by the bridge mate..with the laddies, next to it.
the new spoons used to be a hoggshead a couple of years back, yep sad story that..was front page again yesterday in the echo about the picture taking...fu ckin wrongins and sick for doing that.
Report huskydog August 14, 2010 1:15 AM BST
Got some fishcakes and sausages in the oven, almost done, then i'll head to Branksome Tesco and stock up (beer is running low). I really like Weymouth. Walked from there over to Fortuneswell a few months back. The waves coming into shore on that islet are something else, not like the tiddlers we get here in Bournemouth. I did think about moving to Portland but I thought it'd be a little on the quiet side (obviously!)
Report armagnac August 14, 2010 1:20 AM BST
portland not good, permanent rain clouds over it and howling winds in the winter a bit of a problem with the youth over there at the mo as well. much better places, preston is the nuts over bowleaze
Report huskydog August 14, 2010 1:31 AM BST
Yeh, did have an issue with some youths when I caught the bus back from Portland to Weymouth. They were talking about how they'd tortured some cats, fireworks, chucking off cliffs etc. and it gave me a bad impression of the young folk that inhabit that peculiar place. I liked the southern-most tip of the islet, Weston(?), where I found an amazing beach, idyllic for sure.
Report armagnac August 14, 2010 1:40 AM BST
not sure dont go over to the inbred sh!thole if i can help it, but what you desribed is an everyday occurance over there.  checkout bowleaze next time your down..think there is a good coastal path up on the hills mate
Report armagnac August 14, 2010 1:41 AM BST
redcliffe i think its called
Report huskydog August 14, 2010 1:54 AM BST
Cheers Armagnac, off to bed now, i'll try Bowleaze when i'm next down that way, we'll have to meet up for a few beers on Weymouth Quay, I'm considering goiny to Jersey from there in a few weeks so there might be an opportunity then. Decided not to go to Tescos after all, feeling drained and need some sleep.
Report bunnyman August 14, 2010 10:35 AM BST
Hi huskydog, Camp Bestival is a terrific festival to take your kids, mine are 9 and 12, it was their first proper festival experience and they loved it and we felt very comfortable with them wandering about.  There was some decent music, Marc Almond - an old favourite of ours was superb as were the Blockheads - see them if you can.  The kids enjoyed Madness, Calvin Harris, Example and Friendly Fires.  Adult tickets cost nearly the same as a Glasto ticket, so its an expensive weekend given the fairly low profile bands on offer, but I guess thats a good filter to keep the idiots out.  In fact I was one of the only idiots there if I'm honest, I accidentally got falling over drunk for the first time in many years, and ended up throwing up in a portaloo.  Most undignified - the wife was furious.  Silly
