A really odd stat in all this - on DS 'least liked' poll Rachel is on only 3.6%, yet she gets 26.5% on their eviction poll??
By:
Same place JJ gets 14.7% for least liked but only 38% for the eviction poll....

DS have been way out all this series.......... main forum full of nutters hating everyone - dont know why they bother watching.
By:
Apart from being a bit loud, which is what the volume control is for, I don't see that there is anything particular for the public to dislike about Rachel. Whereas JJ1 and Dave have their supporters, haters and shared fans, Rachel won't be missed. Equally would anyone be motivated to vote her out? No.
Her threat is from JJ1 and Dave fans targeting her to save their man. Were they to target each other instead, she could easily survive by default. But they won't, if only because enough people like both Dave/JJ1 and want big characters to stay. Hence: level of dislike=low; eviction chance=high. |
By:
to be fair dodgy knees you're talking rubbish, why aren't you laying Rachel if thats the case?
By:
Not sure you understood me :) - I wouldn't lay Rachel because I think she's going, which is what I said below. Besides there has been opportunity in the movement of the relative price of JJ and Dave.
Rachel's only chance is if JJ and Dave have a non-entertaining bust-up. Not going to happen! |

By:
because on the least liked, you dont vote for the 'non characters' which rachel is.
you vote for the opposition to your favourite or a controversial housemate, again, neither of which rachel is. She is insignificant, and therefore a worthy sacrifice for the sake of the show. I just think its a shame its another woman to go. |
By:
But insignificance is also a factor against her picking up real phone votes too...

Given the viewing figures, any idea what sort of volume of calls they get for an eviction like this week's?
By:
This series of BB has ratings of about 2.4 million. How many of those would you suggest might vote? I am thinking probably about 1 in 20, possibly even fewer, as bar the loons on forum sites I reckon the average viewer doesn't actually bother to vote.
By:
Most eviction votes are between 50 and 100K

source FLL?

The figgy book of rough guesses![;)]
By:
As low as 50k? That seems extremely low for a national vote.

Disclaimer: The above is a joke and by no means calls into doubt the character of FLL!

I don't have the links, but in Rachel's year they 2.5M votes over the whole series (you could work it out from the money that went to charity) and over 1.5M were in the final.
9 or 10 evictions over the series? So 100K average. The year Brian won they only had 1.5M votes over the course of the whole series. |
By:
yeah, brians year was BB8 - BB7 saw many voters vowing never to vote again following the re-instatment of the terrible Nikki Graham.
(Brian dowling got over 5m votes in the final of BB2 didnt he?) But I think 50-100k votes sounds about right for this show these days tbh. |

Maybe DS do actually have more say than we think...

I think in a multiway vote to evict that the DS freaks have a frighteningly large say in the result!
By:
you do know the biggest thread on DS by a mahoosive margin is the John James and Josie AT!!
over 1m hits per weekend alone..... part 12 and counting. Most of DS have abandoned the main forum this year, no threads hold debate or are even worth reading let alone replying too. |
By:
The JJJ AT is a dozen or so people chatting to themselves.
By:
with tosh like this -
JJ is gentleman and offers his hand to his lady to help her up from the ground |
By:
Rachel will get booted by a landslide in the end though fig
By:
I agree GB.
Not a landslide, but around 50%, in line or slightly below her polling. |
By:
yep, prolly
She has all the attributes for eviction fodder Us internet string vest blokes detest JJ, but we don't vote |
By:
Just checking you weren't betting with your knob ;-)
By:
I agree to an extent FLL, but 2m hits this week (pt9 - p12) surely show more readers/lurkers than just 12 nutters!
![]() I think I was just sayin..... the main DS forum is not even representative of DS for a start, let alone DS being represenative of your average BB fan. It has no real vibe this year imo.. ![]() |
By:
So looking at those figures, you'd only need maybe 200-odd gamblers, all ringing up 100 times each - to generate 20,000 votes, which could constitute over a quarter of all votes, which would potentially have a big bearing on the result...
Does make you wonder...? |
By:
They can void multi-voting, ie suspicious.
By:
I imagine the DS crew multi-vote to absurd extremes. Wouldn't have to be suspicious
By:
They say they do but they were apparently "voting" before the lines were even opened
