I get the 'grateful nation voting for a hero' angle, but he really is an unappealling and unattractive man. He looks like the worst type of thug and until he shows some charisma and humour which I haven't detected tonight I'm happy to have him red.

Climbed aboard last night, managed 8.0 which is not amazing but I'm happy with it.
Nathan is so annoying I want to kill him and John James is a bit of a Dale type, looks good but lacks substance.

How this makes a man fave to win a reality show just shows the stupidity of some people and how deeply conditioned and brainwashed yous all are, the guy was a legal terrorist who stamped all over the civil rites of people, yes he was a victim to even before he made these shores but if you take up guns and tanks to a foreign land then you get what you deserve. The vast majority of the british public will know that.

yes well i hope you can support yourself now britain have taken away your allowance, better hope theres not another famine/holocaust as they won't be helping you out.
ok I've watched just about every minute of live feed so far and I have yet to see him say anything funny or interesting. The other HMs seem to like him well enough but I'm not sure he's not on their wavelength, there is little meaningful dialogue or interaction. I don't see what he is going to do to get on the highlights. Mikey and Verne's disabilities resulted in all sorts of comedy moments, I don't see that happening with Steve.
He has adapted to his injuries, they won't be an issue once we get into the show. I might be wrong but from what we've seen so far all we are left with is a fat, unattractive, middle aged chav with idiotic tattoos and an empty eye socket that grosses me out. Not sure how low he can go without picking up some decent support in the fan polls, and I'm not sure thats going to happen.
Its early days though and I've learnt that its not wise to go mental on first impressions so my red is retrievable if I change my mind.

My concern would be that if he's merely a fat unattractive chav that grosses people out, that puts him at about 14s (level with the pack)
If he does turn out to do some "amazing" things (Take part in a swimming task or heroically win them some shopping by doing some other thing that at first glance looks difficult but he's already learned to do (Given that BB likely know what his limitations are and arent) then he could be odds on pretty fast

Turns out that its not an empty socket but a black false eye that he had made especially to intimidate the opposition in his wheelchair basketball games.

keeping stevo onside, but i dont reckon he'll crash down to evens, can see him getting there gradually if he keeps his cool...whaich is debatable after a little hissy fit in the kitchen....which is not all bad, should give us ample spikes to trade him down

i actually think steve is the most likely walker at this point of the show....talking very low percentages at the moment though ... we dont really know any of there mindsets just yet. but if i had to pick one it would be him and for this reason i see steve's price hovering between 5 and 7 for the next week.
oh, and his snoring is going to drive them absolutly around the bend mega streak time.

You're right Steve could easily win this by default. Doesn't mean he will of course, but I think he needs to pick up some poll support and do something positive before he goes much lower in the market.

It seems crystal clear from tonight's noms that Iffy feels that Steve dislikes her because she is black. Has anyone else got a more charitable interpretation of her comments?

Not sure how he can be value despite the positives - he isn't a natural for attracting votes in many respects - he's not very nice to look at (superficial this may be, but votes are pretty superficial things really), he can be gruff, he is old (relatively) and many will dislike (actively) any military aspect to him (negative vote).
