Peterborough v Bristol City Is it too early to start throwing in the phrase 'six pointer'? Probably not. Especially when you consider that there is only a third of the season to go and both these sides are lingering uncomfortably close to the drop zone. Bristol City were bottom, rose to 19th, but a run of one win in six has put the skids under them again. They have failed to keep a clean in any of those six, and that will surely be a worry visiting London Road, where goals fly in at an alarming rate. Posh average two a game at home - a rate only bettered by four teams in the division - yet they let them in nearly as fast and have the worst home defensive record in the Championship. Neil Warnock is probably the most colourful and outspoken manager in British football today. His brash behaviour has created numerous enemies within the game and antagonised thousands on the terraces. Despite being a qualified member of the fraternity he displays an exaggerated and somewhat silly obsession with the decisions of referees...

And that's exactly how it proved. When you start off on the wrong foot, the only way you can make amends is by winning football matches, and Strachan failed to do so. From his first 17 games in charge, the former Coventry City, Southampton and Celtic boss guided Boro to just three wins which saw the club drop from the fringe of promotion to below mid-table. All this was done with a playing squad that now included half a dozen players signed from north of the border which led to the Teesside club being nicknamed McBoro in some quarters. And Strachan's assault on...
