Betfair Poker Live! Prague main event – Day 1

The first day of the Betfair Poker Live! Prague, NLTH €820+80 main event saw 113 players from Russia, Bulgaria, Poland, Estonia, Ukraine, Latvia,  Slovakia, UK, Sweden,  Germany, Finland, Norway and Czech Republic contesting for the €100,000 GTD prize pool. With 12 places paid the first prize reached a round sum of €30,000. After seven levels of play the field shrank to 52 participants.

The so-called “curse of BF Bounty”, i.e. elimination of the player appointed by the Betfair, in the first day was not broken this time. A popular Czech show-man Pavel Novotny even managed to double up after cracking pocket aces with his queens, but the tradition prevailed after all. BF Bounty was knocked out by his countryman Tomáš Petrů, who receives the prize package for the next Betfair Poker live main event.

Interestingly enough, the story had an unexpected twist. Inspired and invigorated by his achievement Tomáš ended the fist day of the tournament on the very top! The play will resume today at 4 PM local time with 52 players still in contest

Top-ten chip count after the first day:

1. Tomáš Petrů (CZE) 96,000

3. Daniel Havlík (CZE) 75,000
4. Anders Mora (NOR) 72,900

7. Tomasz Gluszko  (POL) 59,200
