Zoombet was the nuts and it's demise will cost Betfair money.

There are a poor list of alternative options

1. Betdroid
http://bet-droidadmin.com/web/
Doesn't work for me. No prices or amounts shown

2. Betacular
https://betacular.com/
On install wants access to directly call phone numbers
modify or delete the contents of your sd card
NO THANKS

3. betondroid
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.betondroid&hl=en_GB
Well it at least works and is also FREE! Display of markets in a single runner method, where you can pick your selection on a drop down menu
and prices are shown on a big ladder table. Not ideal, but workable.
Refresh rate down to 0.5 seconds available which is very good.

4. Traderline
http://www.traderline.org/
30 day free trial then 70 Euros per year (£56)

Paying an annual fee for an app to me is like paying to enter a pub so that you may buy beer!
I'll pass!

5. Use the betfair full site

install dolphin browser
http://dolphin.com/download/

options customize change user agent to desktop
login to betfair at e.g. http://horseracing.betfair.com/

Ensure you are using the Old site
If you login at https://www.betfair.com/sport the new site is dreadful and virtually unworkable on a mobile so click on old site

It's either full old site or betondroid for me.

Any others?

I'm having a similar dilemma...I've also tried what you've mentioned & Traderline is by FAR the best of a bad bunch...it at least looks like Zoombet in that you can get a race & prices on the screen, the refresh rate is superb & consistant, it doesn't kill your battery any more than Zoombet & is basic enough for most people to use without getting a headache!

There are advanced options (ladders & other in-depth trading tools) that I'll never use, so a "lite" version of this app that is free would be awesome. Devil

It also doesn't log you out after 15 minutes of non-use (which Zoombet used to do & annoyed me) & has the ability to actually edit bets in real time rather than having to totally cancel the bets & replace them at alternate odds.

The only downside is that it doesn't show the back/lay % on screen, which I used to like, but it does let you rotate your phone which then shows the full back/lay odds & amounts to bet. Happy

I'm still actively looking around for other alternates that may be better still, but they are thin on the ground.

Please list any other Betfair apps here that may have been missed so far for us to try....

this is most helpful esp to an old Zoombetaphobe like yourselves. Hove, does the Traderline app allow a 'keep bet in play' option when submitting an in running bet on i.e. a football goals market? Thanks

Having suffered a painful few occasions suffering the above options, I can see my self placing considerable less mobile bets on Betfair.

Betfair must be crazy to retire zoombet. It was fast, easy to navigate and functional. Now we get poor alternatives. If anyone listens at Betfair I believe this was done to get more people on your Betfair site to generate trade into Casino etc. Pretty cynical. Betfair ..more like Bet elsewhere.

BetOnDroid banned by Google Play because of nongambling policy.
Try next link to download it http://www.betondroid.com/downloads/betondroid/release/BetOnDroid.apk

Betdroid's update to the new API had some bugs in it.

This may be the problem that Stow_Judge had with it.

A new update fixing the problems is now available.

Also, Stow_Judge, for some reason, didn't mention that Betdroid is free.

It is FREE.

....although, because it has no investment or income, a facility is available to provide a voluntary donation should you be so pleased with the product that you might like to see further development of the app.

is there just no way Zoombet will ever come back? What has the developer done with the App rights?
