The Cash Out function sometimes gives some very odd suggestions which would cost you a packet if you took them up.

E.g. I saved a screenshot today from the Atletico Madrid v Rennes match.

Pre-KO I had laid Rennes for £10 and backed Madrid for £10. My book was:

Madrid +£21.02
Rennes -£136.00
Draw -£10.00

At half time Madrid were 2-0 up and the odds were:

Madrid 1.03 / 1.04
Rennes 120 / 140
Draw 32 / 34

Clearly I could have very cheaply got rid of my exposure on this market and (if I wished) levelled up.

However the Cash Out offered was "Take £29.54", quoting "Liability £136.00, Profit -£106.46".

Obviously I didn't test out whether it would have done this and cost me over £100. What on Earth is going on? There was tons of liquidity on the market, and as you can see from the odds the spreads were tight. A bug?

Hi Aziraphale,

Thanks for raising this. We are continuing to work on improving the cash-out algorithm and how it is displayed to our customers. There are two important things to note here:
- Cash-out works on a runner-by-runner basis, not the market as a whole.
- The 'profit' figure displayed is a worst-case scenario.

In your case, in order to 'cash-out' evenly on all the runners we would have to back Rennes for less than £2 (which is less than the minimum stake). Instead the cash-out would have left you in this position (approximately):
Madrid: +£20
Rennes: -£106.46
The Draw: +£20

We're working on improving the sophistication of the algorithm so that it works better in these sort of scenarios, but we can assure you pressing that button would not have left you £106 down (unless Rennes went on to win, in which case you'd have lost less than you were due to without cash-out).

As above, thanks for raising and i hope this gives some level of clarity.
