Thanks for the questions Biffo,
I would say that at the moment you're best off getting an iPhone. The iPhone 4 is a great handset for Betfair, but you might want to consider waiting for the new iPhone which should be coming out in the next couple of months. The refresh rate for our iPhone app is 5seconds. In the long-term our Android products will be just as good as iPhone. If you would prefer getting an Android, then perhaps look at a Google Nexus S, or a Samsung Galaxy S II. Betting via your phone is just as safe as betting via the website - you have nothing to worry about here! Cheers, BF Mobile |

How about running some sort of contest offering the new iphone or android phones as prizes (maybe 6 months of airtime too) :).

BetfairMobile, how usual are the technical issues from the mobile, meaning with it that you're not allowed to place bets? does it happen more often than betting from the computer?
|

Good question Mungo,
We have no more technical issues on mobile than on any of our other channels - both are rare. We are a web company, so the mobile channel means just as much to us as the main betfair.com site. Anything in the below customer commitment applies just as much to mobile as it does to your desktop! https://promotions.betfair.com/customer-commitment/ Cheers, BF Mobile |

Hi Borrowed,
Which product are you using? The iPhone native application will not work in South Africa but other products should. Have you tried navigating to betfair.com on your phones browser? Thanks, BF Mobile |

Ibetmate works fine in S.Africa, but, the official Betfair product, for both iphone/ipad do not.
How can that make any sense ? I dont want to navigate to betfair.com, via the browser. I want to use the app, betfair Mobile have built. Is that such an odd request ? |
|
By:
Hi,
Nothing odd about the request, no. I'll get you an update as soon as possible as to when you can expect to be able to operate the app in S.Africa. The App will not be available in the S.African store, but you should be able to 'roam' with it in most jurisdictions (incl. S.Africa). Our web app, touch.betfair.com, is a built-for-mobile experience if you want to use that in the mean time. Sorry i can't be more helpful right away, BF Mobile |

Well as somone who has just started using a Smartphone, I have to say I am SO disappointed by the current options. The Android app won't let you do BSP and is as slow as a week in the jail! The Timeform app looks better, but is even slower! I am seriously going to ditch this new phone and go back to using the old phone with the 'old' BF application. Basic but usually works! |
