I've got a Samsung Galaxy S (Android) which I've had for over 6 months.
From the start I've been using the "old" far superior java Betfair Mobile app on this phone by using a java emulator (App Runner - http://www.netmite.com/android/) & then downloading the actual Betfair java ".jad" file on my desktop from:
and converting it to an android file (.apk) and installing it on my phone which worked perfectly until 2 days ago when the software update was released, so now when I start the program, it says "updating..." and then refers me to the Betfair Mobile website to download the native android app which I don't want!!
The above link also doesn't work anymore as it simply redirects to the Betfair Mobile page..
I've used the native Android app, plus the touch.betfair app and neither are even close to the old java app I desperately want to get working again in terms of useability and quantity of info on screen without sacrificing speed...
Can you please give me a link or point me in the direction of someone who can assist with getting this updated .jad file I need (or a converted .apk file of the old java app would be even better) ???? [;)]
I'm an I.T. tech support person, so you can be as technical as you want with any reply!
BetfairMobile, I was hoping for a quick response to my query, and you replied to another post at 08 Apr 11 15:39 and not mine.
I appreciate you may need to do some investigation to assist me, but a simple acknowledgement of my query and a proposed timescale for an answer would be appreciated.

Apologies Hove, I've been trying to find out if there's anything we can do for you... things get pretty hectic here the day before the Grand National [smiley:crazy]
Will let you know if there is anything we can send you as soon as i can.
Btw, it's a shame you're not happy with our current products that are built for Android. We're working hard to improve them so please do keep giving them a go when you hear about any updates or releases. Will be interesting to see if we can change your opinion... I personally much prefer them (but i would say that!!!)
Cheers, BF Mobile

Surely you just need to go onto the server where the java download (.jad) is kept, take a copy of it and maybe e-mail it to me or give me a direct link to download it from somewhere?
I'll always try any updates, but the current android app is a long way from the java app in terms of features (no back/lay %, amount matched on the market, no way to put your "usual" stake to save time having to change it from the default £2 stake every time you want to place a bet, missing race times on the actual dog markets...I could go on & on!!), quickness to get a bet on and knowing if you are matched or not in a hurry.
Thanks for the reply.I look forward to a swift response.Surely you just need to go onto the server where the java download (.jad) is kept, take a copy of it and maybe e-mail it to me or give me a direct link to download it from somewhere?I'll always
Homolupus, thanks for your PM.... plus I've commented on your product on another thread!
BetfairMobile, thanks also for your PM, I managed to now get the .jad & .jar files (I pretended to be a Nokia N95 for this purpose!) & converted them to an .apk & installed it, but it still prompts to be updated when I start the app....something is not right!
