Currently I would say iPhone 4

I'd go with the iPhone. The native app is fast and now has some trading features should as 'what if' in landscape mode. There's a few things it still can't do at the moment such as deposit but this can be done on the mobile browser site.

iphone 4, for sure. And iBetMate is better than the Betfair App. Also, you can view the coupons with the browser with no problem.

thanks, can you do betfair multis on these apps.?

Hi Jacey,

The apps don't have multiples currently. But as elbsc has mentioned you can do these from the desktop version using your phone though.

Yes, you can't download the Java app but you should be able to access the web app which is better. Try going to touch.betfair.com on the browser.

Depends on what you mean by best, there are other options. Nokia N900 ~£200 used, can access www.betfair.com in full, including forums.
Report elbsc February 3, 2011 6:38 PM GMT
Yes but acessing the main page is very slow on mobile connections. And with the N900 the only app is mobile (java).

Iphone is currently the best, with iBetMate. But it's in development a new app for Android. Right now isn't match for iMate, but in a few time I think it can be better, since iBetMate doesn't get an update a long time ago.

You can also view the betfair page with native Iphone browser. But it's very slow on the go, I only use it to view the coupons.

currently got a nokia n95 which is getting old , looking at getting a phone with good battery life and orange have suggested sony eriksson elm, samsung galaxy appollo, htc desire, htc wildfire and nokia 6303i. any thoughts on any of these please chaps. they did mention the iphone4 but said that the sim card in that was different and that i would not be able to swap it back and forth with my n95. is this iphone 4 much better than my n95? not interested in any other features just want it for betfair plus the odd call and text. need it to last 5 plus hours of intensive betfair betting. any replies appreciated.
Report ronant February 9, 2011 12:34 PM GMT
You can get a SIM converter which will allows you to switch your SIM from the iPhone 4 back to the n95. Here's an example http://www.amazon.co.uk/Visionaer-MicroSim-Adapter-Converter-iPhone/dp/B003WQZREI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1297254250&sr=8-1

Betfair works best on a phone with a large screen so look for anything with a resolution of 320x400 or greater. For the phone's you've listed above only the desire would be suitable.

You could look to get the older iPhone 3GS which would be cheaper than the iPhone 4 and has access to the same Betfair apps. It should last 5 hours continuous use but there's lots of battery packs available on the net which allow you to charge your phone when out and about.

many thanks ronant

iBetmate might work on iPhone 3gs, but multitask might not work. With the iphone4 you can switch beetween the app and the broser, wich showes the coupons.
