I have just released a new android app which allows you to quickly view the current market prices. It's still work in progress.More info here:http://www.jads.co.uk/software/andro...r-odds-watcherLet me know what features would be most wanted.Rega
The app is called "Betfair odds watcher" on the android market (UK only).
Sorry, something odd happened with the link, here it is:http://www.jads.co.uk/software/android-apps#TOC-Betfair-odds-watcherThe app is called "Betfair odds watcher" on the android market (UK only).
tried the i-phone link and it lets me enter my Username but when I try my password on my HTC Desire after entering the first letter it just goes back to the password screen again, any ideas. This is on both the default browser and skyfire one

Unfortunately betfair app certification is problematic.
There are some requirements for the certification which are impossible to implement on the Google Android Market.
Firstly, "the application supports forced updates to customers" - Cant do that.
Secondly, "A Vendor must, at minimum, provide an md5 checksum ensuring that customer has a method of checking that the program they are installing is the same file the Security Certified version." - Again, not possible when installing from the Android market.
The requirement to enter a password each time you use the app is also a pain quite frankly. (cant be stored in phone)
I think betfair should improve the API so the user can grant (and deny) 3rd party apps permission to perform certain actions on their account. The app should NOT use the standard username and password but a token generated to link the user and app inside the betfair user interface.
Its a real shame I have had to withdraw this app. Maybe the situation will change in the future.
Mike.

Why have you withdrawn it when it was clearly working to a degree otherwise you wouldn't have mentioned it here?
I'd have liked to try it on my Android phone.
Can I still download it from your website or some other place?

You can always give ZoomBet a go as well - available from solutions.betfair.com (and lite version in Android Market). We have just released latest version that now includes overround display in the market view.
