1) Yes it's legit.

2) No, it doesn't work that good yet. It's just a placeholder app while UMAI Development work on the real native application. UMAI has hired a team in Warsaw to finish development on the product so fingers crossed there should be a solid release before the end of the year.

3) The best way to place bets on betfair on your iPhone, is arguably still just to open Safari and visit http://iphone.betfair.com

If there are any particular features you see missing at iphone.betfair.com I would be very interested to hear!

FYI:

iBetMate Version 1.1 is now with Apple for review and includes Keep-Inplay and TakeSP bets. There's also a 'Current Bets' page showing your unmatched & matched bets or a summary by market. Hopefully the review process won't take more than a week or two then an update will be pushed to the AppStore.
