My old mother used to say that he set a great example because he wore his seatbelt, was the only person n the car who wore one and that is the reason why he never went splat like the rest of them. How did my old mum know this? She was told it by the BBC. Problem is - your man Rees-Jones had security services training and the first rule of being a bodyguard in a moving vehicle is to not wear the seatbelt at all incase he needs to spring into action. So - did he fail in his basic raining or did someone put it on him post incident? |

Good afternoon all, Ascot looking decidedly iffy to go ahead as things stand.Still hammering it down, I feel for those who are going today.I was out of action all of last year so I didn't know of the demise of chit chat which is a huge shame as,like others no doubt, it was a great source of entertainment and intelligent banter most of the time.

Hi boxing,good to see you on here. We'll done T.D. I backed Dettori in that race to get it in the stewards,it looked,to me anyway,like it was getting reversed. So far this week just about levels on the gee gees and a bit ahead on football and the dogs so mustn't grumble at my lot

You got your unders T.D. I nearly always do unders and look to get out at around half an hour given it remains goalless that is.

It would be rather splendid if chit chat were to be opened up again.It could never be the place it once was of course but it would be good nonetheless.In it's pomp it had a very eclectic clientel who could amuse and be very knowledgeable as well. I always said that if all the fora were pitted together in a battle of wits we'd be short price favourites to emerge victorious
