Hey all, what are your thoughts on the Lakers next season?
If the rumors pan out and they manage to get Lamarcus Aldridge, and possibly 1 more quality player, how do you rate their chances?
Sportsbet was offering 200 odds on them winning the title, but it has since dropped to 76, with some sites like Bet365 and William Hill as low as 51.
If they indeed land these players they could have a lineup like:
J. Clarkson / Lin
D. Russell
K. Bryant
K. Love / Randle
L. Aldridge / Davis
Surely their odds would drop to around 10-15..
Could be a good speculative back be at high odds and then hedged late in the season?
What are your thoughts on this. Will they wind up getting 1 or 2 big names and go for it this year or will it be a tank-fest this season?

They're not going to get Aldridge AND Love. They're paying Bryant about 30mil a year. He's mostly washed up btw.
Even if they get Aldridge they would be borderline to make the playoffs in the West imo. I think they'd be better off waiting a year or two for the higher salary cap under the new TV deal and the likes of Durant/Westbrook or possibly Davis coming onto the market.
