Does any body know the mechanism of how betting is suspended in in-play races. Lately I have been getting the impression that some in-play races are suspended before the horses hit the line. Is suspending betting done manually (i.e a person pressing a button) or automatically.

That"s a very weird coincidence---the last at Pakenham (race 8)-- stayed suspended on the jump and never went in play
