FRESHLY evicted from the I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! jungle, Shane Warne went head-to-head with Waleed Aly, calling him a “dick” for probing him about the audit of his charity.
Appearing on The Project after his shock exit on Wednesday night, Warne was not happy about a question relating to his charity being audited for fund mismanagement.
Aly asked: “You and Fev were going to donate money to the charity. There’s been the audit. It wraps up next week. You are about to land back in Australia and land in the middle of that issue. What are you doing about that the moment you get back home?”
After firing back that he had been in “Guantanamo Bay” for six weeks and done “13 hours of PR straight,” Warnie wasted no time in telling Aly that it was disappointing that people want to criticise “good people that have raised money and made a serious difference to underprivileged children”.

“You can get stuffed if you want to... have a go at us but we are very proud of what we have been able to achieve,” he said.
“If people want to have a crack at us for raising money and making a difference, go ahead. We have nothing to hide. We welcome any audit.”
But it was when Waleed wrapped up the interview by saying, “I am not sure the independent auditors will get stuffed but I’m sure we will see what they ultimately say,” that Warnie got really angry.
“You doubting me mate?” he said. “You don’t think - we have something to hide?” he asked.

Late last year, Consumer Affairs Victoria ordered The Shane Warne Foundation submit an audit report after discovering financial inconsistencies in its books.

CAV confirmed it had received the report on Friday, after it extended a February 29 deadline to March 11.

The report, conducted by the firm KPMG, found the foundation had complied with most of its obligations, but - between 2012 and 2015 - did not meet requirements relating to the lodgement and submissions of its annual accounts by their due date.

The report also found that while cash donations were a significant revenue source, it was unable to establish how much cash the foundation received from the financial records it was provided.

"The foundation has determined that it is impracticable to establish control over the collection of cash donations prior to entry into its financial records," the report said.
"Accordingly, as the evidence available to us regarding fundraising revenue from this source was limited, our audit procedures with respect to cash donations had to be restricted to the amounts recorded in the financial records.
"We therefore are unable to express an opinion ... whether cash donations at the foundation are completely recorded for both the previous registration period (July 2012 to June 2015) and current registration period (July 1 2015- December 31, 2015)."

It found because of limitations in gathering evidence and the charity's internal controls, it was possible fraud, error, or non-compliance may occur and not be found.

The Shane Warne Foundation is unable to explain what happened to large sums of cash it received from donors who attended its star-studded fundraising events over the past four years.

The findings of an independent audit into the charity have also cast doubt on its management and bookkeeping practices, noting that the problems meant it was possible that "fraud, error or non-compliance" had occurred but could not be detected.

"You can all get stuffed if you want to have a go at us for it but we are very, very proud of what we have been able to achieve," Warne said.
