Fatty you must have watched a different race.
Another great call,16 runners reasonable close finish in a Listed race.
He called it correct got through all runners several times.

Took a while to realize that every time someone get's on a forum and bags someone in this industry it's proof they were on the loser.
Never mind fatty there's tomorrow.

Can recall AT walking around Doomben / The Farm back in 80's-90'...Much younger looking of course....(werent we all)...

Yes VWD AT for your involvement in what I assume to be a stressful industry...

Maybe he is staying in journalism....?

Now allan can go over to those annoying ambulance officers and tell 'em where to stick their ambulance Laugh. Will miss AT in more ways than one, him and larry were always good for a chuckle.... and a reliable caller too, can't remember him ever screwing up a race in qld. that i'd had a bet on.

kind of got used to this mans voice many afternoons on my headset, he was calling races more days than not, its sad that hes not gunna be on anymore but all things in life must come to a end, he was on the tv just after the last race, looked upset but gee 45 years is a longtime, probably later today will feel a sence of relief hes made the break, can probably go and have a bear and watch the races like the rest of us do.

Saw a bit of AT being interviewed by Greg Radley last night on SKY, it was one of those "you've always been a top bloke" specials they give ya if you've been a good company man for a few decades.

I didn't realise he'd done other sports apart from racing in the early years(rugby league, boxing).

Did have a distracting habit of rubbing his mouth and chin with his fingers throughout the interview, other times he would pull his index finger whilst recalling a memory of years past.

Seemed a bit strange for a man with TV experience.

Read his first call was Charlton Boy winning Goldmarket  (something like that)

Bought back to me memories of those Charlton Boy - Bengalla lad clashes

thanks goodness he's gone, he was never fit to tie wayne wilson's bootlaces when Wilson was at his peak. Could never stand Thomas, can we get rid of that hack Flindell at the same time and bring back Mark Shean please, Flindell is next to farking useless and hate his shouting at the end of a race. End of tiradeGrin

typical thomas that last call, he only spotted the winner at the last second, it was always going to win once it got clear and started to pick up. At least he was consistently craap to the very end. That is truly the end of my tiradeGrin

what happened to Mark Shean ?? With you on him LE, thought he was a very accurate and unflustered caller and would love to hear him back calling.
