Ok this thread is a bit of a ramble and derived from at times what others have said
Firstly i read on here and notice that Globe on Saturday and Friday night is not on Sky 1 - not sure if its permanent but if it is that seems a massive concern for SA Harness
Was thinking Sky seems to accept Harness product after say 10pm - eg Bunbury moves from Sky 2 to Sky 1
Thought SA Harness could start their meeting at 9.30pm to get on Sky 1
However as Globe is so far from the city run this meeting at Wayville
A young smart guy at my work having seen the action at Busselton thinks there is more chance to promote the sport on these smaller tracks
Answer - rework Wayville (which I understand is 1 kilometre from the city
Race each Saturday night - build a club with gambling machines - make it an exciting place to go - have a nightclub - have some live music

Great concept...perhaps sound similar to the raceinos in US (I have not been there)

The S.A. trots should never have left Wayville. In the pre-Dunstan era the Wayville trots was the best night-life Adelaide had. The most exciting spectacle since the chariot races in ancient Rome.

I like the idea of the late start, too. Another thing that killed trotting was daylight saving. The sport was always at its best run under lights on small tracks.

I feel for you lot, your industry is dying, even those with Paleface Adios blood in'em can feel it. Happened to look at the results of today's (Gymkhana)Stawell Harness after successful owner within the Industry wanted to bitch in my ear about it. Quaddie Vic/Nsw Tote $5.70 !! Pool 20K Toilet Tote(Qld...because even the syndicate hardly use it) $3.80 !!.Pool 2.5K
Best thing that could happen is ACCC knock back the amalgamation for TAH's takeover of TATTS. Only thing of value is their Interface. One of many Jackhammer problems for Harness is(apart from the above numbers)diminishing revenues(pool sizes which equates to less funding)So even with Craig's effort while 1 door opens another closes.New generations don't get/understand/want it and old fart baby boomers me included will die off. $3.80 geez, Meanwhile 9 hours away 30% of the HK Chow's are doing Crane postures and woofing down chicken legs after Joe got home on the first 5 winners of the new season.Because of their superstitious beliefs most would have collected on their All-up x All-up x All up,after the 3rd returning them $HK1000 for an outlay of $HK10.
p.s.The Gibraltarian staff who run the forum would be absolutely delighted with the Oz traffic(they can sleep through their whole shift)
