I think so, shorten thinks so,everyone ive spoken too agree's...I think we are big enough n ugly enough to stand on our own 2 feet. we are growing in the world and starting to be heard.

there was a push by both governments secretly, hawke and howard for Australia to be the worlds dumping ground. this was pushed by great Britain and the USA.

yes, great Britain looks after its commonwealth countries, just like they looked after the aborigines from nuclear testing in the late 50's...still refuse compensation. the agreement to allowing the nuclear test was that the mother land would share nuclear information and support Australia's bid to become nuclear.in other words Australia was stabbed in the back and not supported.

There's one good thing about Tony Abbott. The man played Rugby. Was apparently quite good. Played some First Grade. That automatically makes him a superior human being to any man that hasn't played Rugby. His fairly high level of achievement in the game makes him way beyond most mortals. He did also punch Joe Hockey at footy training one time. That's Gold Medal stuff right there.
