I tried to get a bet on with them over the phone. They said to me that I would have to do it online. I said, but it is a live sport event, are you telling me you won't bet me over the phone but will bet me online?
Umm, no, due to the nature of your account, phone betting has been a restriction placed on your account. If you wish to change this, I suggest to change your phone betting habits, and it will be reviewed at a later date. Say what? This is the first time I have ever rang and tried to place a bet, but you will review it and change it following more phone betting activity? The guys are fcuking morons. They did at last check however, at least stick to the RNSW judgement, although haven't tried to get a bet on with them in a month or so. |

Look on the bright side, they are bigger bookmakers than NSW TAB
A few weeks ago, I asked for $200 on an NBA at 1.80 with NSW TAB, I was offer 5 cents. |

Would this fall under the Competition and Consumer Act, which could be the domain of the Treasurer. Personally I think you would have better luck writing to Samuel L Jackson ![]() |

Punters gamble while bookmakers make a book.
Not surprising at all if a bookmaker assesses a chance at evens he is expecting half the book to be comprised of bets for that horse on that race. This assessment may end up being wrong for a number of reasons…track bias, larger than anticipated percentage of the pool etc. etc This mistake requires evasive action and the price adjusted down and bets restricted until a more realistic percentage is assessed. Bookmakers are in business to make a book. I am reasonably confident (that there are no punters on this forum that are “tooo hot” for a corporate bookmaker to handle (whilst some may wish to believe that) The bookmaker’s book is being made now by complicated equations to ensure to the most profitable outcome to the decimal point and if necessary an allowance to lay off if necessary perhaps. Percentages based on the mathematics of making a book changes in nano seconds hence why what is posted is not always achievable. Just sayin!! ( not taking a phone bet and referring punter to internet for in play is something quite different ) |

million miles off henry. I am lukewarm at best, but have been effectively barred by bet365 Nothing to do with making a book. They work on the assumption if they only play losers, then they must win. I would not have thought that turning 500 into 3000 would make me a genius. but they were better than sportsbet, who refused to bet me b4 i had a bet based on my record with IAS, who they or their parent company bought out. I worked on course when bookies made books, 1970-1990. |

I am lukewarm at best, but have been effectively barred by bet365 Fair enough....Still dont understand why go anywhere else except Betfair to get set... I worked on course when bookies made books, 1970-1990. If Eagle Farm / Doomben penciller or bookmaker we either know each other or be familiar faced......if you went on to Albion Park trots afterwards and ate at Breakie Creek between watching Dittman win on a broomstick and KT at trots then we would know each other.... ![]() |
