Dissident probably not suited to latter race distances coming up so he will be happy to leave nothing in the tank at the end of this race….and therefore has to be top pick with PDL who will after this one be the horse of greatest interest this spring. Boban tends to find problems (3 wide/no clear run etc)….makes him often a worry

Going wide at Flemington, bit of a lottery - 2,3,8 and 10

CHAUTAQUA for mine.

$6 place shooting to win....very nice....$50win temple of boom....since its trainers has finally discovered how to position this horse its a winner.   plenty of weight but plenty of corage to match.

hindsight....should have took a quinella with bjt.  wd bj. like to see the swab sresult but.

In hindsight should have taken In Cahoots in there somewhere as the reason I backed it was down to the form around the Gosford Guineas when he came from way off my radar to be 3.50 fav for it, where In Cahoots ran second to it, who then ran 3rd to Sidestep and Bounding, beating it home which Chataqua then following up winning the Hawkesbury Guineas.  Didn't think it would be far away.

Oh well.  Hopefully it is a sign of things to come...

Henry, I did seek an explanation for the "limited" pic numbers from Moonee Valley...."time" was his response.

It is only a hobby for him. Usually takes a couple of days for them to be uploaded.

Amongst his targets were an Apache Cat/ Looks Like The Cat montage...I suggested the latter's strapper may have piqued

his interest....he smiled.

Well here's what I observed, fwiw, on a great day of racing.

NB. I think the repeated course "security" announcements, something like (important message) "don't leave possessions

unattended" was over the top, politically correct? and cringeworthy.....imo....STOP IT!!!

Race 1

MORE RADIANT - not ready - forgive?

TOP DOLLY - MUCH better than when I saw her last prep but still improvement to come - went toooooo quick?

Race 3

Found the winner but he's no oil painting. Backed him pretty much by eliminating ALL others.

SIGNOFF and BIG MEMORY in particular looked really big to me....makes them very creditworthy runs .


Race 4

MERION looked well enough but CHIVALRY and ZEBULON both looked great and neither were completely wound up.

Race 5

C JEWEL looked markedly better...but I've seen her look better in the past...improvement there too.

BONARIA. Looking and racing really well. Looks like needs a mile now.

Race 6

GALAXY PEGASUS lovely horse.

L L THE CAT....nowhere near it's prime.....that's ominous.

CORNROW not racing to his looks...something not right there, methinks.

RICH ENUFF Wow, what a sort! he's my new Polanski Don't think he's just a sprinter from the way he runs

through the line. Still learning....could be pretty special

I actually thought they all looked average actually with exception to Fawkner and PDL....who both looked average + (neither looked wow)

PDL did not look as tight as he did when paraded for Memsie Stakes..

Anyone else form an opinion of his looks while parading ....? or that of any runner like PDL or Fawkner......

Horse looks a picture ....I can only add that TV coverage of EACH horse is hit and miss

I hardly saw a horse in the M Yard on Saturday......stayed at the tunnel entrance of the pre-parade ring. Even then there's

often a couple of late-comers walking "the wrong way" toward the entrance that I only get a quick look at

Have you tried binoculars watching them pass the winning post etc.....on way to start ...always my preferred method when on track.....(which is seldom these days because i m lazy i guess)..but I have chalked up tens of thousands of hours doing just that over the decades.....

So much horse anatomy to talk about ...one day I hope


1. Relaxed- arched neck forward

2. Strength of hind ligaments ...angle of pastern and fetlock

3. Width of spread of hind legs while in motion  for the sprinters

4. Size of girth

etc etc

I do agree horses often "tighten up" once they head out onto the track but the pre-parade gives me enough to form an

opinion. M Yard would only change my opinion if a horse "fell to pieces", got really hot, etc.

Both in the 3rd, Coram looks the part, not sure what happened at The Valley...maybe he just got burnt off.

The other one, Hammered, might be a prep away but I'd be surprised if he's no good. Well beaten but not awful on debut when

muddington the wetter version of flemington....... agreed with coram from weights aspect also tins, will be too short though for me. having no pride i can confidently post some more carp .... some roughies today that vltu has been collecting with from weights recently. taddei tondo overish, let's be a star v. overish, knucklemania v. overish. overdue for a bad day, hoping its' not today. Might suck down a few cascade premium lights at crown
