i didn't know NZ jocks were allowed to bet on horses ... but only the horses they ride
i always thought that option seemed reasonable enough
as this jock bet on a horse other than his own .. and in the same race ... he's fk'd (spesh as it was a head-to-head bet)
but why that has some up in arms wanting to drop the 'bet what you ride' rule seems irrelevant to this filthy situation of backing against yourself

I know a trainer and one day at Kilmore trots he was seen collecting a large sum of money after the last leg of the quaddie . His horse was a beaten fav in the last leg. The stewards had him in and were convinced they could shot charges home against him. Until he produced startling new evidence, the long shot winner was #9 his was #10 They were bracketed !!

The article described it perfect now how much might the stewards unravel by digging deeper into his past rides. CCTV(dumb&dumber) All for a return of probably

Should Get Life and Oliver should be pulled in and Given Life as well.
Back to Barneys Bracket story. After the Got rid of Brackets they changed it to 1 and 11 Bracketed together.
I took over $500 worth of Quads all with 1, 1 out. D Murphy had a Really good horse in the Claimer on a Melton Plate one night number 11 was about 1.20 shot.
One of my Mates who was not aware of Quad Brackets seen all my Quads with 1 One out. One of Tippets who was an average horse was 25-1, he knew i knew the Tippets. He thought i must of known something to spend so much on Quads he unloaded on the 1 at 33-1 then went and had more on at 25-1 After the race i was Happy the 1 Won but got my Result by luck and so did 90% on track who were in Quads. He kept going on i knew something and tried to hide the Tip. He collected $6000 That was like $20000 now. He also was not a Punter and never had a Bet since. He also never Shouted as he wanted to go home with 6000 neat. We made him shout Drinks all night.
I tried to Bluff my way out of it by saying i did have the Tip but would of been shot if i told anyone
Id rather Bracket Quads than Flexi Quads are nearly Gone now with Flexi

In the days when quaddies had no subs, Late scratching BAD LUCK. A bloke I know quite well, who is shifty and a big punter was the stable boy who had the duties of getting the even money fav to the track for the 3rd or 4th leg, all the way to Moonee Valley from Wallen. The quaddies are closed and locked in b4 payment time for his race. He didn't make it to the valley to pay up, and he was cashed up the next day. It was very Blue day for fav punters
