How anyone could boo one of the greatest tennis players of all time is beyond me. He is a Lionheart as well. Shameful.
|
|
By:
Rafa sure copped some quality juice at half time. imo
|
|
By:
no booing at the presentation and a big enough man to still thank the crowd, great work Rafa
Well done to Stan on winning as well - congrats |

One of the few tennis player who never blames injuries for his losses even when he is injured and never retires when injured, as always a class act, even in defeat. Well done Rafa and to Stan The Man a thoroughly deserved win you were blowing Rafa off the court even before he was injured, great to see someone like him breakthrough for a Grand Slam win.

Tennis crowds are really weird.

Dead right Rhino

Walking off without a reason at that time gives the crowd reason to boo, he done it the previous game...courageous to play the game out in such discomfort, sadly the jab never done the trick, anyway the umpire was weak not to see whats going on with no respect to oponent Stan The Man. Over all Nadal compared to Tomic The Tank Engine was what Australians like, go down fighting and he did.
|
|
By:
If Nadel failed a drugs test would anybody be remotely surprised?.........the crowd knew imo....

Slither back under your rock JR, Nadal is an out and out champion always has been and always will be and a total class act, unlike your good self.

Morons who booed Nadal when he was clearly injured
Maybe they were racists ![]() |

Lets Elope is the best all rounder on the forum Rhino, he may not be the best at any one code of racing or one sport code, but if punting were an olympic sport and they had a pentathlon of punting, he would win it imo

You're missing my point Lets. It's not just injuries or treatments. It's a gamesmanship thing, he is a master at it. Time between points, when to get into an extended argument with an umpire, toilet breaks out of nowhere, random racquet changes, grabbing that quick drink in between points, random massages when all appears well... He has all the tricks in his playbook.
You started a tread suggesting those that booed were morons. I'm simply trying to explain that the man has a track record, and those in the crowd knew it, and given the state of the game, suspected tomfoolery. This does not make them morons. Cynical maybe, but not moronic. 2 players were booed during the tournament that I'm aware of - Tomic and Nadal. Two with track records, who the crowd then got back on, which is an apology, so settle down already. As for your Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy explanation, I commend you on and respect your ability to Google. Like Nadal, it appears you have worked hard and mastered an art. An incredible accomplishment on which you should be congratulated. |

Slithering!!!...no such thing takes here in Ireland Letty....snake free zone....
![]() When cycling fans saw Lance Armstrong power clear of his rivals up a Everest like mountain there were those who said ....FAAAARK OFF....No fecking way......whilst there were those like your good self that said......Lance Armstrong is an 'out and out champion always has been and always will be and a total class act'......... ![]() Wake up Letty. |

He has been known to defend the indefensible but that aside he is not a bad judge

Am well aware of what nadal does rhino do you think mcenroe threw temper tantrums because he lost it, of course not, the greats use every legal edge at their disposal, doubt we'll see anyone better than Nadal for a very long time, effective on all surfaces, in all condition and irrespective of any gamesmanship, a great sport to boot.
|
|
By:
Like McEnroe he is a cheat then.......the true greats like Federer and Borg have never needed to stoop to 'using every legal edge at their disposal'......Nadel antic's in the final didn't cast him as a 'great sport' either.
|

Jocker and Nadull are undoubted "doughpers"...i hope this clarifies the situation.

can anyone tell me if nadal after all his other injury timeouts over the years (and you should generally top up on rafa during his infamous injury timeouts for obvious reasons) has EVER stopped doing the wedgie, nose smell ritual thing?
because for the first time i can remember, rafa stopped doing the wedgie sniff ritual in the first or second game of the second set. that's too early to give up the set (i understand if a set is out of reach a player will conserve energy for the next set but this was WAY TOO EARLY for that). and that was when i knew his injury was fo shizzle. a sad case of the boy that cried wolf when he got booed by the crowd. so the truth sadly and boringly, lies somewhere in between the polarities displayed by posters here. |

McEnroes OK....Sacrificed a lot of Money to play for America in the Davis Cup.
