Well, well, well no Rabbitohs.

A die hard Roosters supporter mate of mine was very quietly confident about five weeks ago.  Now he can shout it from the rooftops, since they are favourites to win.

Early markets make Roosters 1.75 favourites but team lineups will have a huge influence on that price.

Easts $21.00 pre-season when betting opened. If G Stewart happened to be suspended by the judiciary, $1.40 would be the right price. Otherwise another close tough low scoring event. BTW, I'm a little surprised nobody commented on JWH's raised elbow on Buderus. Didn't somebody get suspended recently for something similar. Stacks of players get suspended for unintentional contact with the head, however it happens.

G Stewart is a dud.

Laugh It's the patriots in the NFL mate. The only team I support that actually wins a game every once in a while. I was talking to a girl from Canberra when I was in London last weekend. She gave the impression that it isn't the most exciting city in the world.
Report therhino October 6, 2013 12:07 PM BST
She would be correct! And it's very liberal use of the term 'city'

A backwater town at best.

She had been traveling around europe for 4 months and was heading home the next day. She reckoned she had spend over $22,000 on alcohol in those 4 months. She seemed a great girl and was an absolute stunner as well

Report unders101 October 6, 2013 12:21 PM BST
Must have been depressing, living the high life for 4 month and then having to go back there, if it is that bad. She said Melbourne was the best city in australia. I'm sure you will agree with that rhino
Report doubleagent October 6, 2013 12:23 PM BST
Melbourne the best city in Australia? That's like saying West Bromwich Albion is the best football team in England.

Report unders101 October 6, 2013 12:38 PM BST
London's the same. The only gripe I have is, how come the lesbian types look nothing like they do in those nice films you get.
Report doubleagent October 6, 2013 12:40 PM BST
Full of gayers might be a wee bit of an exaggeration.

Had a bit of a look at the Navy Review thingy yesterday. Absolutely brilliant. I didn't get to see any ships as such as I was detained in a number of public houses on the way until I eventually went home. Did manage to catch some fireworks. Can you imagine this extravaganza being held in Melbourne? On that dirty little brown sewage creek? Doesn't bear thinking about.
Report unders101 October 6, 2013 12:42 PM BST
Did you see Harry DA?
Report therhino October 6, 2013 12:43 PM BST
Laugh

The harbour is beautiful. So is the bridge and opera house. Manly is really nice. Good place to visit Sydney, but will only ever be no 2 at best. No culture, no soul. You need more than a few pretty postcards for a truly great city.
Report doubleagent October 6, 2013 12:47 PM BST
Nah I try and steer clear of redheads they're always getting in fights. My family is littered with the ill tempered thugs.
Report unders101 October 6, 2013 12:54 PM BST
To be honest they both look great. But I agree with rhino about what makes a truly great city. I can see why London is so popular for tourists as there won't be a city in the world with the mix of history and culture that London has. 70% is a dump is a dump though and londoners are coonts
Report doubleagent October 6, 2013 12:59 PM BST
They don't both look great at all. One looks good the other is ok. What is more cultural about Melbourne than Sydney? Sydney the birthplace of the nation. Has heaps and I really do mean HEAPS more pubs than Melbourne. I do love London though. Unfortunately the closest I've come to being there is watching Minder.
Report therhino October 6, 2013 1:12 PM BST
Do you really hang your hat on the birthplace of the nation and more pubs? Your pubs are sh1te, all serve Tooheys ffs. Melbourne the sporting capital of Oz, the arts capital of Oz, entertainment capital of Oz, food capital of Oz. Better nightlife, better parks, better architecture, easier to get around to all these places. The laneway bar thing is cool as feck, better than your sterile pubs however many you have.

What is Sydney actually known for? A harbour, a bridge, an opera house, and a gay party. But, each to their own. Glad you like it.
Report unders101 October 6, 2013 1:13 PM BST
They both look great from my tv over here. Neighbours swings it to Melbourne for me though. I was always a big fan of the mangles.
