I find the odds interesting on this one given Hewitts superior record against Youzhny (6-1). In their last meeting last year Lleyton was 2.20. Arguably playing as well as ever, I thought he may have come up fav. Am I missing something? I dont think Youzhny is playing any better. Is it a fitness concern, 2nd week and 5 set match?

Market doesn't respect him. Hasn't for a long time. I would never be concerned about Lleytons fitness. If you price him as fave and you're offered 2.34 then i think it's full steam ahead.

Full bank Leyton, need more dollars to top up 5-0 ashes.

I think the market expects him to blow up. as therhino says, its a good price if you have him at evens. I reckon you might have a point. Even if he doesn't win his 6-1 head to head, good record on the surface and experience in Slam Tournaments suggest he should be shorter. It's the sort of bet you can justify even if you're wrong, if you get my drift.

Thanks guys. I held off yesterday but have to have something at the price now. Not going crazy as I respect the market but I think Ian is right. Win, lose or draw I can justify placing the bet.

Where is the thread congratulating Australia for the stunning victory over Scotland?

On the basis of the ATP report, it seems to me that Lleyton tried to lose harder than Youzhny.

Throwing away such huge leads twice drags back memories of Lillee and Marsh's betting exploits.

Do you think a certain big Sydney punter did ok on the match jfc?
Report jfc September 4, 2013 8:39 AM BST
It's not my place to speculate in public about what certain big Sydney flamboyant punters may have seen as opportunities.

Hasn't been a great week for the Scots, getting smashed in the 1 day series against Australia and now this. It's quite a flogging, was he distracted by fireworks or something?
Report sofiakenny September 6, 2013 6:18 AM BST
Joel..he played badly..he said as much...the yanks are dumb but not so dumb as to have a ruddy firework display scheduled for the middle of a grand slam final..have a nice day
didnt realise things are so bad with you convicts that you actually boast about beating Scotland in a one day cricket match!
Report therhino September 6, 2013 8:00 AM BST
didn't realise the scots were so fragile that a few fireworks causes so much grief
