I purposely avoided Dick Francis novels as i thought they would be cheesy crap about how the non racing public perceive the game to be - in fact they are very well written, well researched, entertaining books.

Dick Francis was a superb jockey tbf......and a great novelist.......his early work such as Twice Shy,Reflex and whip hand are must reads for any racing fan..imo.
