The fourth is particularly interesting for Aus trotting fans as it features upcoming star Blitzthemcalder who has drawn awkwardly inside the second row, behind the other awkwardly drawn favourite Royal Aspirations.
Both are slight odds against with a little effort as summarised here: http://www.harness.org.au/news-article.cfm?news_id=20850 The reason the local TAB is happy taking on Blitzethemcalder a little is this this run: http://media.harness.org.au/vic/MXM22021312.wmv He begins moderately and a little awkwardly and doesn't show much acceleration at the finish in a complete sprint home. He doesn't seem well suited in most of the likely scenarios today. |

STENT = downgrading from the Rowe Cup.....ESCAPEE always a risk from the pole
By:
the Purdon stablemate blouses them both
By:
Was that last half 55.6 for trotters!?!?! Wow.
By:
Stent did well to make any ground....it's funny how with these big tracks you need to race handy
nothing can swoop with those lightning sectionals |
By:
Christen Me will have to put himself into the race from outside of the 2nd row obviously
but nothing is beyond the pacing machine |
By:
broke the NZ trotting mile record by 0.7 of a second....and the track record by over 2 seconds did they say?
By:
What a horse this one is
By:
1:51:5 and change NZ record.....could be the best since Cardy
By:
Blackie was the SUPERFREAK.....is he the MEGAFREAK?????.....time will tell
By:

By:
2yos go 1 sec slower than christen me
fair to say the track is on fire there today not sure a 2yo could get 1 sec within of smoken up's 1.48 |
By:
exactly GS.. not taking anything away from CM obviously, but Ashburton has always been VERY dodgy on times IMO. Going with Dexter in the last
By:
the fishing ain't what it used to be.....don't even get a bite making outrageous statements
![]() Ashburton, they race downhill with a tailwind....times are very suss |
By:
only have Ohoka punter going in the quaddie, at his best very hard to beat so I hope he's somewhere near it today
By:
Ill take a bite - if Christen me was a stock i'd be shorting the hell out of it!
with the drivel that's been written on a couple of these threads you'd swear he has actually beaten something |
By:
drivel makes the world go round
![]() |
By:
sure does!
good luck with Ohoka Punter, prob be leading or 1.1 so going to get its chance |
By:
bugger, just not the same horse who won the Vic Derby
By:
1:50:6, well there you go
By:
I'll take that back, not a bad effort all things considered, no wonder he was gone late
did they say the half is 53 something? |
By:
mister mara **** u
did the same thing last week to get border control rolled these 3yos are nothing short of unbelievable - what has bit of a legend done 3 wide no cover (he's the number one horse in that stable imo) |
By:
a classic crop alright with Adore Me in the mix as well
By:
Even though Ashburton times are borderline ridiculous, some incredible performances were put on show today. Some serious horshflesh, already looking forward to seeing them all next season
By:
that's one of the attractions of Jewels Day = they leave nothing in the locker!
By:
