Like all your rugby league and aussie rules players?

http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2013/apr/29/black-caviar-steroids-saga

British-based trainers are prohibited from using such steroids on horses in training, which is why Mahmood al-Zarooni was banned for eight years last week, but there is no such rule in Australia, where the requirement is simply that any steroids be out of their system on the day of any race in which they take part.

Is this true?  I am not a horse racing expert so i was surprised to read that drugs are allowed in aussie horse racing.  At least your swimmers and olympians appear to be clean, though tbf they are sh1t.  You still have Adam Scott so dont be too disheartened.

Good point Rob, it would appear to me that Australia places more emphasis on preventing the bashing of women than the English, and maybe some of the focus on integrity in sport suffers as a result. Obviously, England places a higher emphasis on the latter, at the detriment of the former.

Some food for thought for us all

Ok let me rephrase  this... Is it true that aussie horses are allowed to use steroids, whereas english horses are not?  Like i say, i am not a horse expert but was amazed to read that from the normally reliable(though unthinkingly lefty) guardian.

Like I say I am unsure as well, we are more concerned about protecting our women and elderly. I know this would be foreign to you as an Englishman.

It's all a matter of priorities, I guess

Rob, I think you are missing my point. It is not our focus, now go beat up on your neighbor like a good English boy

Are you OK AD?  Should i start a thread about the relative merits of australian and englisheses treatment of the elderly, frail, infirm and women for you to have a w@nk over?
By:

No that will not be necessary, but thanks for asking anyhow

OK, so we can now return to my point.  Is it true that aussie horses are allowed to use steroids?  If so it puts Black Caviars win by an inch in england against our honest god fearing homegrown horses into perspective.  I guess Timeform were right in placing Frankel as the number one flat horse ever and BC somewhere down in the forties.

Again, I have answered that I believe. We place our primary emphasis on the erosion of crime enforced on women/elderly. I know this is hard for you to grasp, but try and keep up. You might even learn something you can take back to English cavemen friends.

And we all Frankel was not in the same class. You are a funny one

yes they can be used... what difference does it make to BC, if they weren't being used in the uk then why the positives

The guy caught was banned.  Doesnt mean all english horses were on drugs, although it does invite the mindless " if you dont think they are all on drugs you are living in a dream world" argument.

AD... Is English your second language?  I already offered to start a thread about the relative merits of aussie/english treatment of the vulnerable and you refused and just carried on.  Are you sure you dont want me to start a thread for you to shout at yourself on?

English is my third language, I believe I am doing ok.

Unfortunately, you continue to ask a question I have answered. Who was it that said: Ask the same question, get the same answer?

Cheers unclee.  So is it fair to presume that most aussie horses are drug assisted?  This is genuinely interesting news, i wonder if steroiding horses is legal in other countries.

AD.. I suspect you are a bit of an idiot.

Hmmmm ..... you seem a very lowly individual resorting to such comments Robert. I am hoping one day you graduate to an intelligence level that allows you to create a thread not aimed at generating some petty response. I highly suspect that will not be the case Sad

i couldnt be bothered looking this up but any horse that travels from aus to uk will lose alot of weight - so if you really think any benefit could be carried over there you having a laugh... nitrotain is a different story and would be 100% widely used by all trainers because it has a short detection time
By:

and yes it is legal in other countries rob, thats why the trainer had them in the first place, changed jurisdictions

Savile died well before she came here.  Rolf Harris was alive mind.

Forget about frankel ffs. It seems like BC was a riddled drug addict, why are steroids legal?  Seems unfair to me.

Seriously, was any of this reported in australia?

Please refer to my initial post to answer my question.

It is almost as if you endorse the bashing of women which is so frequent in your country?

Worse without question.  The drugs they use opens up their creative minds to be able to create most of what they do.

I think it is fair to say that the aussies dont seem to mind the fact that this horse that is so popular in their own country was probably on drugs.  Back in blighty we dont tolerate drug cheats.  Linford Christie was given short shrift in his attempts to be involved in the greatest ever olympics last year.  My advice to australia would be face up to your demons head on, it is the only way, it is good for your soul.

You are right Rob, we should all face up to our demons. Let's hope the English take your advice and make an effort to stamp our women bashing. A cultural shift I know, but with strong leaders like you it is possible

The majority of our racehorses get gelded - the majority of your racehorses do not. (probably cuz the Arabs own the majority of them and they don't believe in cutting a horses nuts off)

Not producing natural testosterone the Australian racing authorities deem it appropriate to allow trainers to administer steroids to help a horse develop when in the spelling paddock.  If you want to interpret that as All Aussie Horses are on drugs........that's up to you.

Miss Andretti, Makby Diva, Black Caviar and dozens mostly mares in between.  Our Australian racing is a disgrace for steriod use.
Surprised Black Caviar has not grown nuts I reckon.
