Exchange of information is not corruption.

And where exactly is the monopoly? Gai isn't the only trainer who runs horses in big races. And Tom isn't the only bookmaker who bets on big races.

I think Singleton is just a sook, but if he wants to take his horses elsewhere then good luck to him.

Heated words between Rob Waterhouse and John Singleton
Nic Ashman
Rails bookie and Gai Waterhouse's husband Robbie Waterhouse chased after John Singleton repeating, "tell me what you heard” through clenched teeth as More Joyous's owner stormed off after appearing at a stewards' inquiry at Randwick on Saturday.

The spat was part of the fall out after More Joyous's below par performance in the All Aged Stakes where Singleton made claims that Waterhouse's son Tom, one of Australia's biggest online bookies, told friends of Singleton that his horse had a problem.
"Go f&$% yourself,” Singleton replied.

"Tell me what you f&$%ing heard,” Waterhouse responded.

Singleton confirmed to stewards that he’s taking all of his horses off Gai Waterhouse in the coming days.

"When Gai’s son knows last night what the result will be today. There’s a conflict of interest,” he said.

if ... and only IF ... what singo alleges is true ... then that would constitute family 'insider trading'

but only if ... the bookmaker husband &/or son ... took advantage of that inside information

'insider trading' is illegal in many 'free markets' that are traded to the public

the stewards will naturally examine ALL the betting and laying on the race now ... and advise the public of all integrity ... surely

Has anyone considered that Young Tom was throwing a massive 'dummy' to his clients in order to NOT lay the mare .... a ploy that actually backfired in the end if you believe his declaration that the result was $300K worse off ???

I wouldn't have a clue what actually occurred - but the possibilities are endless.

So Bill and Robbie never got information about TJ's horses while he was still training???

Plus every other relationship in the history of racing between trainers / stables and bookmakers - the only difference this time is that they are Mother and Son - it's misogyny i tell ya Wink

The price of GOLD is set manually everyday, It's not a supply and demand thing, Yet people still invest in it. Crazy

Think Singo has every right to be upset. But why did he have horses trained by the wife and mother of a bookmaker if he wants to punt in first place. Recipe for disaster. Move your horses to another stable & move on.

Tony McEvoy is expected to train a few of the horses that have left Gai Waterhouse stable today for Singo.
he has bought Byford Lodge at Hawkesbury. Feels its a great spot to train from and will hopefully increase stable clients. Shocked

singleton is a muppet in this case...........horses get beaten..........end of story.........the idea that gai would do anything untoward is nonsense.......shes one of the greatest trainers in history.........im no fan of her bookie son but this is the game and if he wanted to take her on the fair enough.

I think Mcevoy purchased Bylong Park, quite a large stable complex situated on the back straight of Hawkesbury, at about the 1200m mark

and are we to think that the waterhouses have never given singleton a tip?
By:
BJT
When: 28 Apr 13 04:04
Big difference between giving a tip on one that is going, than running your horse dead imo..
And hey, if he has been given a tip, or steered away from one that couldn't win, he knows for a fact that his was one of them yesterday.

Of course this is a Monopoly Pitsburger Phil.  Waterhouse(Australia's leading trainer) /  Waterhouse( Australia's leading bookmaker.) Don't know of any other Metro. trainers and bookmakers in a similar relationship.   I'm sure 99.9% of things are above board but its not a good luck for Australian racing.
Anyway I got a theory next time More Joyous runs make it race 1 not race 7. This way Singo will more than likely only be 1/2 pissed which in turn will only create half the trouble.

Also when I finish painting my sons room I'm gunna post a full unbiased summary of this debateable race, ( All Aged Stakes. 1400. W.F.A.) in full. I'd do it now but the wife's on my back at present, just lucky she's a good cook you know.   I'm pretty sure Me and only Me can iron this one out.

Very light creamy yellow. semi flat, very nice.  Needs 3 coats.   Had to repair plaster wall first.  Over the years sons punched a few holes in the wall when his team loses.   Madness I reckon.  I reckon parents should be aloud to marry em off on E/Bay when their over 21.
