Turnover down, treating customers with disdain, the people running the show have no idea what their customers want, typical of the whole racing and punting industry

Have spoken to plenty of customer-service people in TABCORP over the last few months. Alot of the time its been them calling me.Some mug called me 4 or 5 days ago and wanted me to answer a few general questions about service and the new TAB SITE. I said Id just about said all I want a dozen times already,but I decided to vent my anger once more. The only good thing that came out of the conversation was that I did finally get an answer to the one question Id asked a few times before with no real success. I asked him who they consulted before designing the new site.
He said GOLD AND PLATINUM account holders. To which I answered,"I thought as much"--Catering to .001% of account holders that either bet very little,but bet in big amounts,or system/computer,proffessionals that like to place 1000,s of bets per race using batch betting.
These punters wouldnt give a stuff about 99% of the junk on the site. So the fancy lights,and colourful junk was just thrown together at the last minute in the hope of satisfying the other 99.999% of punters.

Need to swear at these ****s IMO

i usually have a laptop open on the 3 scab sites in different browesewrs (IE, mozilla and goggle)

it is doing strange things freezing up laptop and flickering betwwen sights at random

i have had to close the new site downs

I will have to use one of those sites that does the business for u

site times me out all the time then takes about 30secs to refresh. fkn frustrating. one of the slowest websites in existance.

Dont think they bet how we bet Kye.I know zero about batch betting. Never done it,dont know how to do it,and could not tell you if its quicker/better with this site than the old one. I do however know,that its a major part of turnover and im sure its been catered for at the expense of other stuff..I do know this,if they had consulted me,i would have kept the old site,and just added a couple of extra features at very little expense. ps--Gunna take a long time to get the hang of this site,but guess its here to stay.

I loathe this new site.  Take forever to load all the extra junk.

I can't even find the refresh button any more...  just switch to another race then come back to the one I want... which just adds to the amazing slowness of it all.

things are weeeirrrdd alright. When the carnival was on and betty blue eyes froze colder than andrew bolts arctic........... the new scrote site and mobi scrote accepted my bets instantly !!! It's either a trick to get punters, sorry.. mugs, using mobile phones (which they can do even when they are whistling while they work ...how convenient ) instead of pc's or... the scrote is affecting betty's network in some way

I have a platinum account and told them I hated it from the start, and still hate it... they called me to try to persuade me to move to the new site - which I havent done until today

Try to have a bet and all you can see is "WIN & PLA", and they block the rest with infuriating blue tooltips.  You can't tell if you're about to have a fixed or un-fixed bet.

So you click on 'Show Tooltips', because you don't want it to show the tooltips, but then every time you do virtually anything they come back.

Now clicking on any of the fixed buttons doesn't do anything.  Clicking on any of the 'Tote Win' buttons doesn't seem to do anything either.  So you try to put a bet of $1 on, just to try and figure out which horse the site thinks you want to back, cause there's no other way of finding out.

So you have to reload the whole, miserable, interminably slow site again, just to get a clean shot at putting a bet on.  And of course that means the blue tooltips of bafflement are back to block as much information as they can too.  So you click to get rid of them and of course the rest of the buttons start to not work again either.

Eventually you can only say - screw this, and go bet somewhere else.  Half an hour later I'm still furious at this total joke of a site.

yep the buffoons have assumed every tote punter has a millioncore chip with a trillionmegabytes of ram and a fifty inch harvey norman special monitor... like whiskers said 6 months ago. It takes a while to work out how to navigate it khan, but eventually when you get it, you appreciate that at least it doesn't freeze solid.

i dont normally go to betfair forum, but as the old sites closed today am forced to use (should i say try to use) the new tab site

i came here to the forum to see if it was just me. clearly it isnt

the one thing i really dont get is how the new web page, doesnt fit on my screen, in one go. its like deliberatley sitting behind a pole at a sporting event

i wonder if tabcorp understadn this may drive people to use the their tote products thru 3rd party sites, and thus, pay them commissions as they are driving their customers away.

just got a new PC with a solid state drive, 1 zillion GB of RAM, a 57,000,000 ghz quad core processor and the site works a charm

These TAB clowns really didn't think this through - have a read of any of the racing forums around & there is a thread with multiple complaints from users of these new sites.

Whatever genius's decided that Flash was the way to go with these sites need to be put out of work, & add to that one needs to be a programmer to be able to access XML feeds & geez what a shamozzle.

Closed my 15 year old Vic Tab account in protest yesterday, not that they will give a ****, but enoughs enough.

Well had my first bet on the new website, took me nearly 10 minutes to put on a quaddie at Moonee Valley. Just crazy crazy stuff.

Logged onto new site--clicked results --Waited 4 seconds for first race results to appear..--If this a step in the right direction--heaven help us all

Terrible - If i get kicked out due to inactivity it is impossible for me to log in again without turning off my computer and starting again.

It freezes so often that I now open it via a different browser than my other sites, so when I have to "refresh my internet browser" I don't have to close all sites.

Its a dog.

I think its safe to say,from what im reading,is if you dont have  a reasonably new computer ,your stuffed.
I do have a new computer and it loads ok but it is still a lot slower than the old site.

When I drop into my local TAB (they have three screens)to check on a result,either one or two won't work
and it takes about a minute to get the result you require.This compares to less than
10 seconds previously.If you don't use that screen for atleast 5 minutes you have to start the whole process over again.A REAL PAIN.I can only imagine this is repeated throughout other TAB's.

funny that.... nearly every youngster (40 and below) that comes into my local just pulls a phone out of their pocket and uses that.... checking results and betting.

to do that right click on desktop - go properties - go settings - drag screen resolution along to 1280 x 768 - apply

Its ok for us youngsters, but they told my mother to do this too....if she does this she will hardly be able to read the screen.

Just trying to view Skyform now....when I click on it it says 'The webpage you are viewing is trying to close the window' and I cant view the form. Perhaps the guy who made this site realy works for on of the corps.

Been betting with the new site(trying to bet) for 3 days.Seriously painfull stuff. There are some good things,but mostly just painfully slow,complicated,confusing,anoying
and any other adjective that may describe something that was built for people who dont like to bet on very many races each day.And have 64 inch plasma computer screens

Yeah I was never consulted, in fact I rang up constantly complaining and moaning about it.  I still can't even deposit money into it, so every time I had to I would ring them up and abuse them some more since I never wrote the phone number down.  A new site, and I need to use my phone keypad just to deposit?

The site is a joke.  Need a new monitor just to have it on the screen.  Pity if I wanted to do something else.  I guess that is what it is all about, if you want to use the TAB, you really can't use anything else unless you have a multiple monitor setup, which in reality most of us more than likely have, but I did like limiting that to 2 monitors rather than the 3 needed now.

The confusing thing, is after months of complaining, by all and sundry, and the endless users choosing to use the old site knowing the new site was there, they still went ahead with it.  Must be an agenda somewhere.  Surely they are able to realise a bad investment when they see it?  Of course not.

They only want people accessing the poxy thing via phone apps & tough titty if u want to use the website.

So fairy enough, they've lost what little action I used to put through their tote.

Sometimes when you want to take Fixed odds you wont get on.
I only Use for my Quads and Tris.

Im told more Bookies will be on board next year.

Is so easy friendly and so quick to put Bets on.

Just a quick tip if you are betting Multies on the Jump be carefull if you betting every state becarefull you betting Flexi. Have made 2 mistakes 1 was in my Favour the other wasnt.

I Only use under sufference, Betty the Bug Sleezer Extremely slow ,and user unfriendly. Pretty much a joke site if u ask me. When placing multis,eg trifectas,if u click tri and place a bet it reverts  back to win and place after each bet,so u have to click tri again. Woulndt be another site this side of the Milky Way that works like that.The people that designed,and or advised on this site,should all be euthanised

Yeah--useless f u kin g site--My computer is only 6 months old,so I have some hope of using it.Went ok(still a lot slower than old site) up until a few days agao. Now I find when placing bets I have to wait for eternity(30 seconds plus sometimes ) to see if Im on. Just not a workable system. P i ss ed off big time

I have tried it Womble, it might be satisfactory using an iphone, but to have to use it on my home computer, PLEASE.

Wat Smol, the problem of having to close all sites so I could refresh my browser was driving me mad, so now I open up the scab in Internet explorer and the others under Firefox. Not ideal but does save me reloading the other sites.

Have said it before the site is a dog. So is the Betfair tote option but it has always been crook.

Also sent same idea to Tabb got a response from Tabb that they dont Control what is played on Sky
Sky never responded sent same email 3 times to them.

Its pretty Silly having 4 racing Channels and cant get it right
Dont need to be a Rocket Scientist

What Shocks me is after 11pm the Overseas races are on Sky 2 and not everybody has Sky 2
I only bet on HK and sometimes UK

If i had it my 1 there would be only 1 TAB and free Internet Video,

Ive made more complaints and put in more suggestions than you can poke a stick at. Have had a couple of phone calls from customer service who have listened patiently to my whinging. But to be honest,no one really cares. The people running the show have no idea how punters think.They only think in the short term,and try and cater to a very small group of punters.

The new site was designed by a school kid. According to reports from the people that know,the Management at TABCORP decided they would have a contest. The contest was, who could design the slowest,most useless,user unfriendly site possible. And the contestants were a class of 8 year old kids. The winner got a voucher for a free burger at Macdonalds.

Especially when it crashes about 2 minutes before a race I am betting on(a colourfull ferriswheel starts spinning on my computer,whatever that means)
and usually when I am working on a good trade on betfair.
By the time I can boot up again the race is over and it has cost me.

A couple of years ago Tabcorp rang me and offerered $100 to come in and review a proposed new web site. During this session I pretty much told them everything was a heap of crap and that the old site was better in almost every way.

Now they must have took some notice because what I saw then was very different from the current new site so they obviously scrapped that version and started again.

Unfortunately I was not asked about the new site that eventually went up. Flash was a huge mistake, it is meant for media content, when the important content the punters want is pretty much all just text and numbers Flash is just plain uneccessary, standard HTML/text is perfect for that.

They should have just 'upgraded' the old site in a gradual fashion rather than do a complete new version, added in some Ajax to improve navigation and loading speed, adding any other new sections or changing the formatting and layout would have been fine too as long as they had just kept it as standard HTML rather than using Flash.

I was just wondering if the Vic TAB system was down at the moment as I can't seem to login to bet on the Mildura trots ?

I would have paid them $100 to give my advice. This new website is so totally wrong in so many ways its laughable.Every day is an adventure. Everytime I bet I find that things are set up totally opposite to how I think. (and probably how most other punters think)  Have emailed them a million times with suggestions.They use to reply but now they are sick of me,no more replys

Its working Beetess,(mine is anyway)but if your computer is more than  a year old it probably wont work.

While I am definitely not in love with the new system, I haven't any recent problems logging in except for today. Maybe it will save some money not betting on the "red hots" from Middura !!!

The only thing good about the new site is the way the Fixed odds are on the same page as the tote odds.Its was a bit clumsy on the old site. But thats the only good thing .The rest is crap

I like the fact that it logs me out or crashed on random occassions.......it has saved me thousands
