Everything depends on the start.  IDDI has never actually led and won a mile race, some hero always wants to stop him getting there easily.  Big speed duels with Miss Warbucks and the infamous 26.7 first quarter against Sundons Gift have stopped him in the past.

On that cynical basis I'm expecting Elegant Image to try and hold him out, even though it seems like a bad idea for the Elegant Image camp.  Connections love to make bad decisions when IDDIi is involved!

I am pretty sure if Quinn found the front at Melton and got a 29.5 first quarter he would have.  I don't think there is any way in this world Bitobliss would have won the Inter from where Quinny did.

They are different horses. No I don't know that Bitobliss would have won that Inter from there.

No way on earth Quinn would have won that Legends like that, no chance. Ever seem him used out of the gate in the Eastern states?

He flew the gate in the Miracle Mile and worked hard in the first 300m.  Yes he got beat 2.5m and no doubt he is not as good when used out.  But he could easily have crossed Mister Grizzly like Bitobliss did and if he got that cheap run to the 1200 around Melton he would of made a mess of Smoken Up too at this point of time.  No way Quinn would be handing up to Smoken Up like he did in the Miracle Mile.  Coming and and 5 wide around GP in a 56.5 last half around quality horses is what puts you in the freak category.  Not finding the front and running a cheap first quarter and getting home fast your last 1200 on the fence.

Well we agree to disagree. Quinn has won 1 of 7 in Victoria, hardly a freak. Lets see him he do it on another track. He simply has not done it

His strike rate in Victoria is fact, not opinion. You can't escape that, and as such I see it as folly to suggest he could have done what Bitobliss did in The Legends. He has had many chances and not done so.

I have absolutely no doubt whatsoever Bitobliss is the best horse in the country

Yes I don't think there will be any changing of minds here!  His last prep in Melb was flat, no doubt but no excuses he raced and they are on the record.  His Vic and Hunter cup runs were huge.  I hope they both get even luck this week.
