SO if an asteriod was goin to hit wed all be seeing it by now apparently , so it can't be an asteroid.
Why are the mayans so respected ? I know they invented some sort of the first way of telling time with a shadow ect.

Not sure why everyone is going of the mayan calander, is it because they are the first to discover work out time with shadows? still doesn't make logical sense to base everything on their calendar

Bad news...The Mayans never predicted the end of the world.
They forecast significant days...21 December is one of them. It may be significant because a man in a colourful shirt sells orange juice on a street corner in Brisbane, who knows?
This end of the world stuff was invented by one bloke who proclaimed himself to be a Mayan god and the lowest common denominator media for the uneducated masses has run with it.

Maybe this guy figured, because using some shadow system they first civilisation to invent recording time, then he freaked out about the calendar ending ?

But yer well significant day , well it is isn't many days from xmas thats significant lol, Ud think this would be the last end of the world scenerio now. Nostradamus one didnt happen either so this would be the last one, Y2K didnt happen either remember.

Maybe its all about selling shirts lol

Julia's speech reminded me of the time, in 1976 (I think) when some crackpot predicted that Adelaide would be destroyed by a tidal wave. He had it down to an exact date and time. It had come to him in a dream.

At the exact date and time, S A Premier, Don Dunstan, heroically went down to the beach at Glenelg to hold back the waves.

What a Premier !

The next day the now-defunct Murdoch newspaper, The News, had the headline "IT DIDN'T HAPPEN"

Has anyone seen the film 2012? All sorts of weather events were happening in that prior to the end of the world and that is what's happening around the world lately. It's spooky. Confused

I have an alternative reasons the Mayan calander finished

1-   The bloke doing it died
2-- After 30 years of chisleing in stone , his missus gave him the ultermatium "Get a real job or else""
