Can't believe Lynch thinks he will get a better deal elsewhere, a good servant who has wrung the most out of a relatively limited talent,he's a premiership player think he kicked four inthat GF final win so no knock on him just saying he's been repeatedly stating how he' struggling to get himself up at various stages this season and that the end wasn't far off yet he knocks back a one year contract, anything we can get for him is a bonus, we'll be happy to take another Josh Kennedy set of steak knives from Carlton.
It just means we should get to see a fair bit of young Fraser McInnes next season and he has real potential.
I don't know how Lynch will cope with having to play week in and out on the hard surface at Etihaad if he ends up at a club based there as players don't pull up well from playing there on a regular basis as he struggles to come up playing on Subiaco but that's his problem, although the far lesser amount of travelling may balance that out somewhat.
Think any club that offers him a 2 year deal is taking a bit of a risk for mine, sad to see him go but if you're not committed to playing for the Eagles well we don't really want you here then so hopefully its a win, win for both the player and the club.
Disappointed to see Koby Stevens leave if he had been given the opportunites that Swift was given Stevens would still be here, plenty of clubs in the hunt for Stevens apparently so hopefully we'll get a decent deal for him, Eagles in the hunt big time for WA player Sharrod Wellingham apparently.
can't believe have you not heard eagles only offered 1 year, whereas carlton, collingwood offering 2..for more money per year than he has ever got
good on u Q Stick..

No I say good luck to him and the club that pick hims up he was the one who was saying most of the season that's he all but finished and then he expects the club to give him a two year deal. No great loss as he's all but gone anyway and anything we can get for him is a bonus, on the other hand I thought Chapman at Geelong deserved better for staying loyal to them during the good times and on his form in the second half of the season that Geelong owed him a 2 year deal now he's under severe pressure if he gets injured early in the season which I think is morally wrong for a player of his calibre to be treated in such a manner who has been as good as he's been for so long at Geelong.

Lets with Lynch i thought if he wants to leave he can and WC get nothing for him. I still dont know how the Free Agency works after ready 2 pages i was lost. It had to happen. Clubs just trade players for the next big name Kid or trade off half their list to Get somebody at all Costs. It destroyed NBA look at in now, i used to know every sides list now every 6 months the list Changes.
AFL need a 1 player rule and pay him what ever they want and its not included in Salary Cap.
Teams like Bulldogs, Kangas Have to Merge with an Interstate Side. At the moment to many side and Comp is to uneven. At least North have a Little future, but i cant see any for Dogs and they on the bottom at worst time.

Put it this way Nick why should a relatively young player at melbourne or Port be destined to play out their entire career at a club that goes nowhere? Is that in any way fair? It's a two way street it may force those bottom clubs to lift their standards and become more professional and can't see the AFL letting it get to a situation where these clubs will be permanently anchored at the bottom

Free agency is not for young players, they need to be at a club certain number of years before they can leave as a restricted free agent (where their current club can match the offer) or more years as an unrestricted free agent.

Giles only wants 300K per year and is a ready made replacement for Jolly.
Don't want the big Q ball so hopefully Carlton beat us to the punch
Hopefully this trade will happenWellingham to WCE for pick 17Pick 17 to GWS for Jon Giles.Giles only wants 300K per year and is a ready made replacement for Jolly.Don't want the big Q ball so hopefully Carlton beat us to the punch
Pies got Barging of the Trade. Wellingham worth a 1st round pick????????????????? i though they would be happy to get a 3rd pick Shock trade for me when you see what Lake went for. Wellingham will struggle to get a game at WC. His Claim to fame is knocking out Carazzo and Buddys Shadow.

CHRIS DAWES being paid 500k per year...........this cant be right, but if it is then everyone at Melbourne should be sacked never to get a job in footy again, the guy is a 200k player at best ffs

You should here people in Adelaide bleeding abut Tippett going to Sydney for Jessie White.
What most of them don't know (because they don't know footballers outside of their own state), is that White could well end up a better player

I'd rather white than Dawes, any day of the week, not sure he's better than Tippett .. Although Tippett is one knock away from missing a lot of footy or even a season..
Crows done well IMO

Agree with most that that comp is far too uneven. If anything this trading time has made strong clubs stronger & weak clubs weaker. Seriously how will bottom sides ever climb ladder if players want to be part of premiership sides. GWS, Suns, Bulldogs etc will just get worse & players will leave to go to Sydney, Hawks Cats etc. Some clubs like Blues, Bombers & Tigers might climb due to good young players already there but no hope for some of others. It won't improve & will just get worse.
I think North should merge with GWS and Bulldogs with Gold Coast. Dont think there is any other choice for AFL.
