WCE should have the run to get this done. But Geelong putting up a big fight.  Eagles have to win this by 15+ or they are shot ducks for this year I think.

Eagles won the game, but they're no good.
Report West Coast Eagles August 10, 2012 3:31 PM BST
Just finished watching the game, Eagles did enough just to win. Dont think they can win the premiership this year, but a prelim finals is a minimum target for them. They need to aim for top 4 spot, Draw of Port ADelaide, Collingwood (Home), Hawks (Away)

Think if WCE win 1 of those 3 games, they can get 5th-6th spot (Home Final)
If WCE win 2 of those 3 games, they can get a top 4 spot (3rd or 4th)
If WCE win 3 of those 3 games, they can get a top 2 spot

Key game will be the Pies match for me, Pies will get back Dane Swan for that match but I think that will be a 50 50 game at home
Report BJT August 10, 2012 4:15 PM BST
If form is anything to go on, WCE can only possibly beat Port in that draw.  To play at home, against a side battered with injury, losing their focal point up forward early early, losing a rotation on the bench, to just get over the line, is no good.

Geelong coach Chris Scott last night labelled West Coast fans disgraceful and the worst in the league after the Eagles fought off his valiant side to record a gritty five-point win.

In a contest marred by the officious interpretation of the deliberate out-of-bounds rule, Scott questioned whether Patersons Stadium was a fit environment for children to watch AFL games.

He fired the verbal shot after pockets of Eagles supporters booed star Cats forward Tom Hawkins as he lay motionless on the ground after he was badly concussed from landing on his head in a marking contest.

The Eagles kept their top-four hopes alive with the 16.6 (102) to 15.7 (97) win to anchor their position in fifth spot, just percentage behind fourth-placed Hawthorn.

But the talking point was the nine free kicks paid for deliberate out-of-bounds, believed to be an AFL record.

Scott said he was hugely disappointed by the reaction of fans to the plight of Hawkins, who was stretchered off in the first quarter.

"Standing on the boundary line, it is not an environment for young kids, which is a shame because we need young kids coming to the footy," Scott said.

"It was disgraceful. It's everywhere, but here's the worst.

"I loved it when I was at Freo. It's fantastic, it's great the energy here. It's the loudest ground in the competition. It's a great place to play footy.

"But if you're asking my opinion on whether it goes too far, absolutely it does … when a player is concussed, he's on the ground, he hasn't moved and he's being carted off the ground, you shouldn't be swearing and abusing him, abusing the medical staff.

"Would you take a 10-year-old into that environment?"

embarrassing stuff by weagle fans..too much chardonnay and they go ugly Plain

The Eagles are the most disgusting team in the competition at the minute, their is clearly an issue with the bias umpires are showing them week after week and you have to wonder why after nearly a full season. And their supporters are an embarrassment, well done to Chris Scott for having the courage to say publically what a horrible bunch of human beings they are. Their side are front runners and all they want to do is take pot shots at everyone else.

Well done Chriss Scott, a digrace display by Eagles fans

Calls by Victorians to make Patersons Stadium an ''adults only venue"'?  Surprised

But I think thats what got the Eagles over the line last night, they are the nastiest supporters in the land.(More nastier than Adelaide supporters at Footy Park or Collingwood) (which can be a good thing for the team or a bad thing if your an opposition supporter)

Tough wet game of footy, Thomas subbed off early, replaced by Didak unseen for months, more concerns over a couple of others, sees Sydney running over the top here.
Story for Collingwood so far been the dominance in the forward line for their tall marking forwards, start getting some tired kicks in there later in the game and all leads to the same opinion.  In it up to their neck, but think Sydney draw away in this second half.

Collingwood seem to have the wood on the interstate teams for a period of time : Sydney, West Coast and Adelaide but I feel they are 50 50 chances against the best Victorian sides in Melbourne(Geelong, Hawks, and Carlton on their day)

Going to buck the trend today in the Essendon and Kangaroos and predict unders of 210.5 points, Unders 210.5 paying 1.87 V 2.02 Over 210.5 pts, I think it will be a high scoring , as these teams are traditionally attacking teams at the Dome but maybe with a bit more on the line (winner gets to be in the top 8) there may be a period of 5-10 minutes where it may be a scrappy affair.

Going to take the UNDERS 210.5 points here. GL All

Frustrating day  miss out on the hawks spread in my multi by 2 points after Hale misses an absolute sitter 20 metres out directly in front at the start of the final quarter and then richmond and north both win and then when wells goes down after adams had already gone down on the basis of attrition rate I thought the bombers had to run over the top of the roos and against my better judgment I layed the roos and bombers then proceed to butcher the ball throughout the rest of their game with abysmal kicking.
Tremendous win by the roos after losing grima as well during the match and showed what I already thought they're a vastly superior side to the bombers. The roo wins was alla bout heart but the bombers displayed a dsitinct lack of hear and skill despite the massive advantage they gained the during the match with three north players completely out of business.
