Does anyone know whether there are programs available, that wil place bets, using my own set of prices ?

The program needs to be sophicated enough, to work out how much to bet on each TAB, in relation to pool size, and the size of my bets.

Sorry I cannot help you with your question Castiron, but I do wonder how difficult it will be for you betting into parimutual pools and the amount of late money that can see significant price changes reflected on the last refresh after betting has stopped.

Extremely difficult. The last available less before the jump in no way reflect the final odds.

That might not matter though...

I understand your point, Hal, but I run into that problem doing it manually.

My thinking is, a good program could do it better than me. Also I'm trying to bet and lay on Betfair, at the same time.

Also I do my markets to 80%, so there is a fair leeway for late price changes.

This is what ZR does but he get's rebates which make it profitable.

I believe ZR has (had) access to "live" odds which is an enormous bonus.

Dynamic odds can do the bet placement for you, but you will need some custom software to interrogate the TAB pools.

This can be done using s couple different programs right now.

First you need to setup excel to work out all your runners with your prices.

Then you can import odds from this site http://www.puntingform.com.au/form-guide/

Not 100% sure how accurate these prices are you will need to check that out.

Once you have the prices you need to get BetStream for NSW & Vic Tab bet placement and you need to get Netbet for placing bets via the Unitab site.

When this is setup excel can check the available odds for each tab you would then have the option to place bets with all Tabs or just the ones that offer the best odds.

Excel can create the files need that will then be placed in a file and picked up by the programs to send to the Tab, i currently use BetStream for exotics for NSW/Vic tabs.

This can all be setup to run automatically if needed.

The odds on that website look suspiciously like the ones on odds.com.au - they aren't accurate but they aren't far off either.

The results section of that website is brilliant however.

DT

Thanks. I'm currently using Dynmaic Odds and I'll make more enquiries. I was betting with Dynabet through Dynamic Odds, but was barred from betting with them via the net.

Joshua, I have left you a message.

I was using Betstream and Netbet for exotics. I haven't upgraded to the new Betstream software that you need from next week. I will need somone to write the software as I'm useless with Excel. Thanks for your help.

I used to use a program called Racemate - it did it quickly across all three TABs - it was about $1600 a year ten years ago - don't know if it still exists.

cheers

At the moment i get my odds from the Tab but there new site is all flash so i can't scrape it just yet, need to learn a bit more.

They have the rapid bet service but that is a bit of a mystery even the Tab has no idea how it works.

i am hoping they don't change the use of the Betstream service just there odds service as betstream works well.

You will likely need to subscribe to their live odds service NO_BS when they go all flash (you can still use the non-flash version of the tab site), only thing with the live odds service is you need to know how to write code or you wont know what you are doing

Do you think the old site will stay?

Guess we will wait and see what they stuff up after next week to see where we go.

It will certainly stay for a while, no one i know likes the new site and the TAB are certainly aware of the issues with it...

Yes i thought the old site was bad, this new flash version is just painful to use.

For a website with as much traffic going through it as the TAB to be based on flash is beyond comprehension.

The only reason for using flash for a data driven website is to protect the data, perhaps that is what they are trying to do. Because you could use any scripting language to get the same user interface.

I can understand them wanting to protect the site but not much use when the average punter can't use it.

Maybe they are thinking that Tab outlet and phone betting is more of there business, if so they have no idea where things are going.

Don't think you need to scrape the data . The TAB's have a good xml service.
