Seems another thread has bitten the dust. Sir Godfrey's party.
I thought you overstepped the mark with that crack about Grant Hackett OldCrow. Shame on you.

Didn't take them long to pull mine about my account being hacked into and my $1100 blown in 3 bets.
Baffles me that Betfair haven't done more to alert customers of the threat.

question .. do you use a 3rd party betting tool to access your BF account .. or the standard interface ?
and if you have not logged in 10 times since the incident ... you can still see the ip addresses of all accesses to your a/c
goto My Account (up near your balance)
then go to My Security (down the left hand side)
are they all from the same pc ... especially the day in question

Pretty clear to me that as I've been here for about 4 days running without being banned ... Village Kid / Aussie Driver is the only regular that hates me that hasn't been here ... pretty clear to me who's been getting me banned in the past!

It seems to me that BF are pretty naive with regard to their obligations under the law of the land in which they choose to operate.
A couple of examples are PBA's issues and my issues re: NSW Anti-Discrimination Legislation.
They also seem to me to be a lot like many of the guys that post on this forum. They think they can do what they like because it's their product/company, and they also search for legal advice until they hear one of them say what they want to hear. A very naive way of operating, and it's no surprise to me that they lost a court case that they should never have even gone to court about.

i was thinking more of a 'less personal' relationship than that between a 'forum member and their threads' and any 'laws of the land' sorry lol
... i was thinking more on ... how could a scenario such as PBAus mentioned occur
... in that was it his own pc that was compromised .. thru either another person accessing it ... or its particular method of accessing the betfair interface
... and then did BF check on who matched the rogue 3 bets at the 'other end' ... and did they communicate to PBAus this info to alleviate any of his genuine concerns

I've been working damn hard on a website for a community organisation that I'm donating to them. Although the UK races are starting earlier this time of year I'm usually up early and in bed early as a result.
The UK races are best to trade on though, especially in-play on hurdle/steeples.
I'm a small punter and trader as you know. But a month or so ago I needed to find some money quickly so I traded with a bank of $1,000 and a stake of $800 for a few days, very risky I know, but I made $1,600 in 5 days which covered what I needed. I was happy with that,

Nice work TQ, nothing like punting when there is a need for quick return and it comes off. Do you purely follow the movements or do you do some form as well i.e. work out who goes back and forward in a race. I have been up late and seen a few of the races and am amazed by the swings in the market inplay. Seems like a traders paradise.

Pre-race a horse's price usually swings between a high and low point ... watch for a while and then jump in at the bottom if you can. Don't get too greedy. If I can't match something I ususlly leave it in play in those long races ...
I've noticed that "truth-time" is damn accurate over there, so even just punting without any form might work okay.

I am intending to be up and watching during the Royal Ascot carnival. I may have a go at it with a monkey bank and see how things end up. Same for Tennis, the swings and liquidity are quite staggering at times.

Thebas - I did get to see some of the replies and thanks for yours. I have been flat out all week as i wanted to respond to some of them either via message or another thread like this.

I do use a 3rd party betting tool. I have wondered about that and whether or not it might have had anything to do with a security problem. I am going to get on to them and pose the question. That said, Betfair didn't even ask me the question during my conversations with them.
are they all (ip's) from the same pc ... especially the day in question
No they aren't and there is no dispute about that with Betfair. They say it is clear to them that my account suffered an 'unauthorised access'. They just say it is my fault and then stand behind their terms and conditions.
My issue with them is twofold really:
Firstly, they handled the issue really badly and tried to fob me off as an idiot when it first came to light and secondly, and much more importantly, that given that this is not an isolated incident they have failed to ever communicate to their customers to urge extra vigilance.

cheers PBAus ... thx & good fortunes with all this ... an awful scenario and scary for any BF account holder ...
the security token idea proposed earlier by Harry i think (even if us the user has to pay for it) would ensure this could not happen to one other person again

there should be a "Graveyard Forum" whoopi .. where all the deleted threads go to ... to get buried
a/c holders could these request a special login ... just to re-visit these on a lazy night ... or such (better than some movies lol)
and one might slightly be forgiven for believing in ... 'conspiracies' ... after all this 'unrequired' deletion rubbish lol
