I think Blake Shinn's suspension for 6 weeks from Wednesday was pretty tough.If anything Brendan Avdulla should have copped the suspension for trying to push Shinn out of his way.Shinn was entitled to hold his ground but Avdulla kept bumping him to get out of a pocket.I wonder what would have happened if the jockeys positions were reversed.
Shinn seems to be never out of trouble and the stewards have been gunning for him.
Murrihy was giving him a talking to about 2 weeks ago and Shinn read the form guide and took no notice.Murrihy said"there's been a lot of good jockeys sat in that chair,Cassidy,Dye,Beadman.etc.and while you're a good jockey you need an attitude change".
The writing was on the wall for a decent suspension.
